Bottega Veneta’s Fall/Winter 18 menswear and accessories

  • May 25, 2018
  • 1 minute read

Tomas Maier, the creative director at Bottega Veneta, has come up with an elegant solution to address the complexities of the modern pre-collection: to design three distinct groups. “They function like mini collections,” says Maier. “One delivers in November, one in December and one in January. Each one is about what my client might need or want at the time when pieces arrive in the store.” The second objective is to offer clothes and bags to make one dream. “No one needs another basic thing,” says Maier. “I want to give my client something he or she has never seen.”

The Fall/Winter 18 collection offers a range of graphic checks, coloured turn-ups on dark denim jeans, lush mélange knits, patinaed shearlings and a double-wool duffle coat, winter whites and desert hues punctuated by pops of bubblegum pink and mint green.

The season’s men’s bags offer colour-blocked Micro Intrecciato family made of calf embossed with the woven motif. There is also the range of sturdy dark nylon detailed with bright nappa trim and intrecciato flaps which injects the collection with a fresh spirit, particularly in a new belt bag. And the Enamel Tote has been recast with vivid enamel hardware and handles.
