Maserati has presented Inter Milan Centre-Forward Romelu Lukaku as its brand ambassador. According to the Modena, Italy based automaker, “Ambition, a unique passion and power and the will to excel: these characteristics make the meeting between Maserati and Romelu Lukaku a match of intentions and values.”

The Belgian international, with a market value of around 90 million Euros, recently partook in the first Drone Drive aboard his Maserati Levante Trofeo. Driving through the snow-covered streets of Milan, on a journey through the memories and images of his childhood, of the young talent destined for a bright career, and of the world-class athlete, whose audacity is one of his strengths, both on the stages of world football and aboard his Maserati. Both his audacity and his strength was on display in the recent top-of-the-table clash with city rivals Milan, where he put in a man-of-the-match performance in a 3-0 win.

Lukaku debut car, the Maserati Levante Trofeo, is the brand’s flagship SUV. It has a V8 Twin Turbo petrol engine with GDI direct injection, capable of producing 580 hp at 6,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 730 Nm. Bursting with power, it can hit a top speed of 302 kmph. The Maserati SUV is produced at the Ferrari factory in Maranello, following Maserati specifications.

“Maserati resembles me, because it combines power and passion. I am happy to represent such a historic and prestigious Italian brand, “said Lukaku.

Maserati currently offers four models, each with a distinguished personality, and recognisable anywhere. Quattroporte sports luxury saloon is the marque’s premium model, and is complemented by Ghibli, the sports executive saloon. The crossover SUV Levante was introduced in 2014.

MC20 (short for Maserati Corse 2020) is a 2-door, mid-engined supercar that debuted in September 2020. It is powered by Maserati’s Nettuno V6 engine, which features F1-derived technologies adapted for the power unit of a standard production car.

Maserati’s range was recently enhanced with the introduction of the Trofeo Collection, comprising Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante models equipped with a powerful 580 hp V8 engine.

Currently, the Maserati range is produced at three plants: Ghibli and Quattroporte are built at the Avvocato Giovanni Agnelli Plant, while Levante is built at the Mirafiori Plant; both in Turin. The new MC20 supercar is produced in Modena, at the historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant.

Looking ahead, the new Grecale SUV, Levante’s smaller sibling, has been undergoing intensive road, circuit and off-road tests, and is expected to be formally launched later this year.
