Yas Marina announces berthing rates for the F1 Weekend

  • July 21, 2018
  • 2 minute read

Between November 22 and 25 this year, Yas Marina is set to become the epicentre of Abu Dhabi’s social scene during the tenth running of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix. The most glamorous way to view the race is, of course, on a yacht berthed on the glistening waters of Yas Marina; and its demand is growing each year which is why Yas Marina has released berthing rates for yacht owners interested in attending and includes special incentives for the early birds; those who register before July 31.

Newly appointed General Manager at Yas Marina, Billy Canellas, said, “This year’s special 10th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, is gearing up to be better than ever, promising an unrivalled exhilarating sporting event followed by glamorous after-parties at our award-winning venues.”

“Following the increasing annual berthing demand shown in recent years, we highly recommend early expression of interest for F1 devotees and yacht owners to avoid disappointment. Interest can be registered through our convenient online portal, as berth spots, including those with coveted track-views, are secured on a first come, first served basis.” – Billy Canellas, General Manager at Yas Marina.

Recently awarded a Five Gold Anchor rating from The Global Marina Accreditation, Yas Marina’s world-class venue boasts 227 berths and can accommodate yachts from 8m to 150m, with rates starting from AED 13,808 for non-track view and AED32,727 for track views. The venue has been hosting some of the biggest and most luxurious super yachts in the world throughout previous years.

Race weekend berth packages are available from 18th till 25th November 2018 and include a wide range of attractive benefits. These include a generous allocation of Yas Marina guest and crew passes based on the boat size with an option to buy additional Yas Marina VIP Passes, and Guest Passes that are only available to berth holders. It also gives exclusive access to Thursday Pit Lane Walk, stunning trackside pontoons and post-race concerts.

On the technical side, captains and crew can take advantage of the 24-hour berthing assistance and other turnkey solutions that Yas Marina provides over the race weekend. The yachts have access to Wi-Fi, power and water, onsite management office with bathrooms and showers, boat and buggy transfers, and onboard catering, servicing, and delivery options.

The tenth-year celebration is gearing up to be an unforgettable spectacle. Initial acts already announced are Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling ‘The Weekend’, and renowned, iconic rock band, ‘Guns and Roses’. The third artist is the mega pop star, British singer and songwriter Sam Smith.

The Yas Marina promenade is home to a range of licensed restaurants and lounges, and welcomes electrifying atmosphere with race weekend live entertainment, pop-up venues and dazzling after-parties. Catering to all tastes with cuisine ranging from the savoury Mediterranean to classic American, and simple Italian food made to perfection, guests are spoilt for choice and may even catch a glimpse of their favourite celebrities in the crowd.
