Dubai’s vibrant dining scene welcomes the return of alara, a destination that has long captured the city’s appetite for convivial gatherings and refined culinary rituals. Reopening at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, alara introduces a refreshed experience that reimagines the timeless spirit of the majlis for the modern era.
Positioned against the architectural icon of the Museum of the Future, the venue has been thoughtfully redesigned to blend natural greenery with contemporary detailing. Seating areas have been expanded, creating a flow that encourages lingering over conversation while enjoying a sense of openness and intimacy at once. Every corner of the space invites discovery, from shaded terraces to warm interiors, making alara a sanctuary in the heart of the city.

The dining experience itself is a performance of flavour and tradition. Guests are invited to take part in a live grilling ritual at their table, selecting from premium cuts and delicacies that are cooked to personal taste. This is paired with a medley of vibrant mezze and the graceful pouring of Moroccan tea—a sequence that feels both rooted in heritage and heightened by theatre.
alara’s spirit extends beyond food, capturing the conviviality of a true majlis. Board games such as Backgammon and Chess are placed throughout the venue, fostering a sense of playful rivalry and bonding. Adding to the atmosphere, the soulful strains of a live oud player set the tone every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, turning each gathering into an occasion to savour.

The menu reflects a balance of nostalgia and innovation. Among the highlights is alara’s signature Kunafa with pistachio ice cream, a dish that nods to the city’s culinary culture while reinventing it with subtle refinement. Alongside the à la carte offering, the Urban Majlis Sharing Menu, priced at AED 228 per person for a minimum of two, presents a curated journey through flavours designed for sharing, available from Thursday to Saturday evenings.
Beyond gastronomy, alara is curating a multi-sensory narrative that includes fragrance-making workshops, blending scent and taste into a singular journey. These experiences embody the venue’s ethos: to transform dining into a ritual that engages every sense, leaving guests with memories that resonate long after they depart.

Now open daily from 4pm to 11pm, alara welcomes Dubai back to its tables with renewed purpose. At once traditional and modern, intimate and expansive, it has re-established itself as a space where food, culture, and connection are celebrated under one roof—a contemporary majlis for a city always in motion.
