Sheku Kanneh-Mason’s intensive musical workout in ‘A Suit To Travel In’

  • October 28, 2018
  • 2 minute read

After inviting Sheku Kanneh-Mason to perform for an intimate event before his autumn/winter ’18 fashion show in Paris, Paul Smith, both a fan and friend of the Nottingham-born cellist, starred Sheku in his new film made with filmmaker George Harvey.

In the film, the celebrated cellist is seen showcasing the incredible versatility of Paul Smith’s ‘A Suit To Travel In’ as he plays an extract from the physically demanding ‘Caprice No. 1’ by Piatti. The flexibility and comfort of the suit, matched with the natural breathable quality of the wool, helped him feel unrestricted and at ease, giving him the freedom to play.

‘A Suit To Travel In’ is a result of the designer’s commitment to innovative and functional tailoring. Made using a high-twist wool yarn to create a crease-resistant cloth, the suit is ideal for those on-the-go. This remarkable suit also has extra room across the back of the jacket for added comfort and flexibility and allows the slim-fit style suit to spring back into shape irrespective of the stress it is put under.

“I developed ‘A Suit To Travel In’ for people like me who are constantly moving and on the go and need a suit that still looks fresh.” – Paul Smith, Fashion Designer

2018 has already been an incredible year for the young musician Sheku. His debut album, Inspiration, broke into the top 20 of the UK album charts and became UK’s best-selling classical album of the year. Then, in May, his Royal Wedding performance was watched by nearly two billion people and captured the imagination of audiences across the world for which he was personally styled by Paul Smith in ‘A Suit To Travel In’ and a pair of colourful, striped Paul Smith socks.
