Mallet London, the progressive British footwear and clothing brand, has launched its AW23 clothing collection as a homage to the UK’s ‘Local Legends’ – artists who have inspired others through their unique artistic expressions and fashion sensibilities. This season’s collaboration includes grime legend Ghetts, Berna, One Wheel Wavey and Silky.

Mallet London’s AW 2023 collection features a variety of heavyweight 400gsm tracksuits, shorts, and t-shirts, all crafted from 100% organic cotton. They explore the inspiration of the coming season through fine colours with a combination of clean lines and subtle details. Think pristine White to understated Stone, classic Black, earthy Olive, and deep Navy Blue pieces that effortlessly transition from streetwear to high-end style.

Ghetts, the iconic grime artist, sits at the heart of this season’s campaign, reflecting on his journey as an individual and musician thus far. “I come from East London, surrounded by a rich musical environment. Growing up, I was exposed to my aunt’s singing, my dad and nan playing musical instruments. I used to freestyle with my friends on the streets and even on the radio. It was a way for me to be heard and acknowledged back then.

“The challenges I’ve faced have been my greatest teachers on this journey. My plan is to remain a lifelong learner. I believe there’s wisdom to gain from every corner of the world. With that being said, I’m here now, and I wouldn’t alter my path. Striving for more is natural, but I’m content with who I am. I wouldn’t want to lose any part of it. When you have self-belief, possibilities expand.”

The campaign also features Berna, a rising star in the UK rap scene known for his remarkable wordplay and style. He’s poised to make a global impact with his upcoming project.

He says: “For me, London is home. No matter where I travel or eventually settle down, London will always have my heart. It’s vibrant, trendy, and culturally rich. This city embodies the life and mindset I used to have. It’s where the story of Berna began, but it’s not the end. Despite moving to Essex a decade ago, I keep coming back to London. Without London, there would be no Berna.”
