In an ambitious return to its off-road heritage, Defender has announced the launch of the Defender Trophy, a global adventure competition designed for thrill-seekers with a passion for exploration and conservation. Inspired by iconic Trophy and Challenge events of the past, this new initiative will unite participants from over 50 countries in a multi-stage journey culminating in an epic finale in Africa in partnership with the long-standing conservation ally, Tusk. The competition is more than just a test of endurance—it is a call to action for a new generation of explorers to leave a lasting legacy.
Beginning with local selection events this summer and moving into national finals in spring 2026, Defender Trophy will ultimately bring together the top contenders for a once-in-a-lifetime global showdown in Africa. Here, winners will join forces on a conservation mission that supports Tusk’s wildlife and environmental efforts, all under the watchful eye of a global online audience. It’s an opportunity to not only push personal limits but to contribute to a greater cause.

To accompany this momentous challenge, Defender is also launching the Defender 110 Trophy Edition, a special-edition model that reflects the spirit of adventure the event represents. Offered in two heritage-inspired colours—Deep Sandglow Yellow and Keswick Green—the Trophy Edition features an expedition-ready specification including all-terrain tyres, protective body elements, and distinctive decals. It’s a nod to the brand’s storied past while embracing its evolving identity for a new era of global explorers.
Eligible participants must be over 23 years of age, capable of swimming 50 metres, licensed to drive, fluent in English, and eligible for international travel. Those chosen will face a mix of Driving Challenges (navigating rugged landscapes), Ingenuity Challenges (solving tactical puzzles), and Physical Challenges (traversing tough terrain and natural obstacles). Competitors will be scored individually but must work in pairs, with strategic team selections made at every stage—adding a psychological twist to the adventure.

The competition is structured across three rounds: local selection, national finals, and the global final in Africa. The grand finale will not only test competitors through a series of rigorous stages but will also culminate in a unique, high-impact mission with Tusk. This initiative highlights Defender’s commitment to global conservation while fostering a worldwide community of adventure lovers bonded by a shared sense of purpose.
To bring the spirit of the Defender Trophy to the streets, the 110 Trophy Edition offers optional accessories including a Matte Protective Film, Expedition Roof Rack, Deployable Roof Ladder, and Raised Air Intake—ensuring the vehicle is as capable off-road as it is visually striking. Inside, Ebony Windsor leather seats, Trophy-branded treadplates, and laser-etched accents complete the look of refined toughness.

More than just a competition, the Defender Trophy is a celebration of resilience, global unity, and purposeful adventure. With the brand’s deep roots in exploration and a partnership with Tusk spanning over two decades, this new chapter invites a new generation to embrace the Defender ethos: epic adventure, greater purpose.
