Bentley Motors has completed and delivered the first customer example of the Batur Convertible, a made-to-order grand tourer that merges the brand’s most powerful W12 engine with the freedom of open-top driving. Crafted by Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house bespoke division, the Batur Convertible represents the pinnacle of coachbuilt luxury, blending timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design language inspired by the acclaimed Batur coupé.

The Batur Convertible retains the clean, muscular lines and sculpted form of its coupé counterpart, reinterpreted for an open-air experience. Its roofline flows seamlessly into the rear deck, while the wraparound “endless bonnet” design and assertive grille anchor its commanding presence. Unique to this model, the convertible configuration allows owners to enjoy the symphony of Bentley’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine, tuned to deliver over 740 PS, in harmony with the ambient soundtrack of the road.

Mulliner’s bespoke craftsmanship defines every element of the Batur Convertible. Each commission is tailored to its owner’s exacting preferences, from exterior finishes and hand-painted graphics to the most intricate cabin detailing. The interior showcases a combination of sustainable materials, contemporary veneers, and precision-milled controls, complemented by an array of optional bespoke embroidery and marquetry. Every surface is shaped, stitched, and polished by artisans in Crewe, ensuring no two Batur Convertibles are ever the same.

Performance remains central to the Batur’s appeal. The hand-built W12, in its final and most potent iteration, is paired with an advanced chassis system featuring adaptive air suspension, active anti-roll control, and electronic limited-slip differential. Together, they deliver a grand touring drive that is as composed and refined as it is exhilarating. With the roof down, the experience becomes an immersive dialogue between power, luxury, and the elements.

As part of Bentley’s limited coachbuilt series, only a small number of Batur Convertibles will ever be created, making each example an instant collector’s piece. This first delivery marks not just the arrival of a new automotive masterpiece but also a milestone in Bentley’s design evolution—one that subtly hints at the marque’s future styling direction as it transitions into its next era of grand touring.

The Batur Convertible is a celebration of heritage, performance, and individuality. It is for those who view a car not merely as a means of travel, but as a personal statement—crafted to be driven, admired, and cherished under open skies.
