Bugatti Marks 20 Years of the Veyron with the F.K.P. Hommage at Rétromobile

At Rétromobile 2026, Bugatti returned to Paris not simply to unveil a car, but to commemorate a turning point in automotive history. The presentation of the F.K.P. Hommage unfolded as a quiet yet powerful tribute to two decades of the Veyron, a machine that irrevocably reshaped the idea of performance, luxury, and ambition. Set within the inaugural Ultimate Supercar Garage, the moment carried both reverence and intent.

The F.K.P. Hommage draws its meaning from legacy rather than nostalgia. Conceived as part of Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire, it reflects a philosophy where bespoke craftsmanship becomes an art form. Each surface, proportion, and material choice is designed to connect the marque’s contemporary vision with the uncompromising ideals that defined the Veyron from its inception.

Central to this story is the enduring influence of Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, whose vision created an entirely new segment within the automotive world. The Hommage honors that audacity, translating it into a form that bridges past and present with remarkable fluency. It stands as a reminder that true innovation carries echoes that last far beyond the moment of creation.

Visually, the car revisits key cues of the original Veyron, from its unmistakable posture to its flowing belt line, while refining every detail with modern precision. Subtle evolutions in surface treatment and proportion create depth and presence, allowing heritage to feel alive rather than preserved. The result is familiar, yet undeniably new.

Inside, craftsmanship takes on an almost architectural quality. Bespoke elements machined from solid materials sit alongside refined textiles, evoking the spirit of early Bugatti interiors while pushing the language forward. The cabin becomes a space of contemplation as much as control, where mechanical mastery and aesthetic restraint coexist.

The unveiling also reaffirmed Bugatti’s commitment to collector culture through authenticity and personalization. Displayed alongside the F.K.P. Hommage, historic Veyron models served as a living timeline of evolution. Together, they illustrated how continuity, when carefully guarded, becomes a brand’s most valuable asset.

As Bugatti looks toward the future, the F.K.P. Hommage stands as both a celebration and a statement. It honors the Veyron not as a relic, but as an idea still in motion. In doing so, Bugatti reminds the world that excellence, when rooted in vision, remains timeless.
