Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the trailblazing CONCEPT AMG GT XX, redefining electric performance with revolutionary technology and radical design. Equipped with three compact axial flux motors generating more than 1,360 hp, the hyper-performance concept delivers futuristic power density within a sleek aerodynamic body. The motors—so compact they could fit in a pizza box—are integrated into High Performance Electric Drive Units (HP.EDUs), with custom inverters made from silicon carbide, a material usually reserved for space exploration.
One of the standout technical marvels is the use of rectangular copper wire in the stators—similar to choosing tagliatelle over spaghetti—to maximise conductivity and thermal efficiency. Production involves over 100 innovative steps, 35 of which are world firsts, leveraging AI and laser-cleaning technologies to ensure precision and cleanliness. With a drag coefficient of just 0.198, the vehicle rivals natural aerodynamic champions like falcons and dolphins, enhancing both range and stability at speeds exceeding 360 km/h.

Beyond performance, the concept car features industry-first sustainable materials like LABFIBER, a biotech leather alternative derived from bio-based polymers and recycled AMG GT3 tyres, offering twice the strength of traditional leather. The concept extends sustainability and innovation to the vehicle’s interiors with 3D-printed, driver-specific ergonomic seat pads and spider silk-inspired door handles made from biodegradable biotech fibres.
Charging performance is equally exceptional, with the car able to gain 400 km of range in just five minutes using a pioneering Alpitronic prototype station capable of over 850 kW. Visually, the car pays homage to the iconic C111 and Vision One-Eleven models, combining heritage with advanced electric mobility. The CONCEPT AMG GT XX is more than a car—it’s a showcase of what happens when cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and motorsport DNA collide.

Inside the cockpit, the CONCEPT AMG GT XX reimagines the driving experience through an immersive digital interface. The curved panoramic display responds intuitively to the driver’s biometric data, collected via seat sensors that monitor posture, stress levels, and muscle tension. This allows the vehicle to adapt dynamically—adjusting ambient lighting, soundscapes, and even acceleration patterns to enhance focus or relaxation depending on the driver’s physical state. It’s a seamless fusion of machine intelligence and human intuition, setting new standards for user-centric innovation in high-performance vehicles.
In keeping with Mercedes-AMG’s motorsport heritage, the GT XX channels raw racing DNA into an electrified format. Torque vectoring ensures pinpoint control through corners, while energy recovery systems honed in Formula E competition allow for efficient regeneration during aggressive driving. The precision chassis, paired with adaptive aerodynamic elements and a state-of-the-art electric drivetrain, creates a symphony of speed and sustainability. The car’s double diffuser, active front splitter, and rear wing work in concert to optimise downforce across a wide speed range without sacrificing top-end velocity.

Design elements draw inspiration from both nature and legacy. The low-slung silhouette echoes the elegance of falcons in flight, while subtle retro cues—like the vertically slatted front grille and bold wheel arches—pay homage to the legendary AMG models of the past. Even the lighting signature tells a story: ultra-thin micro-LEDs form a unique winged motif that evolves in real time, responding to driving modes, charging status, and vehicle conditions. It’s not just illumination—it’s expressive design language brought to life.
Looking ahead, the CONCEPT AMG GT XX hints at Mercedes-AMG’s roadmap for future electrification. This isn’t merely a concept vehicle—it’s a living prototype that integrates lab-tested technologies destined for production. With its unmatched blend of performance, innovation, and sustainability, the GT XX sets a bold tone for the next chapter of AMG: where performance is electric, form follows emotion, and every component is engineered with purpose. This is the sound of silence at 360 km/h—and the future never looked faster.
