RM Sotheby’s celebrated an extraordinary conclusion to the year with their second Dubai auction at the Emirates Golf Club. Partnering with the Mille Miglia Experience UAE, the event saw four world records broken, including the record-breaking sale of the 2014 Pagani Zonda LM Roadster for an impressive $11,086,250.
A Record-Breaking Star: The 2014 Pagani Zonda LM Roadster
The highlight of the evening was the 2014 Pagani Zonda LM Roadster, a one-off masterpiece from renowned Italian automaker Pagani. With its clear lacquered bare-carbon bodywork and Zonda Revolución-inspired rear wing, this exceptional car was produced to the exacting specifications of its original owner. The Tricolore exhaust outlet added a distinctive touch, making it one of the most coveted Pagani models. This highly sought-after car achieved a world record price of $11,086,250, with competitive bidding from in-person attendees, online participants, and phone bidders.
Other World Records and Notable Sales
Following closely behind, the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC Coupé made waves with a $4,336,250 sale. This track-focused masterpiece was one of only 20 ever built, featuring the upgraded ‘Pacchetto Tempesta’ specification. As another Pagani marvel, it too broke records, showcasing the enduring appeal of Pagani’s craftsmanship.
Next up was the 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé, a car designed for extreme performance. Boasting a Cosworth V-12 engine paired with an electric motor, it delivered 1,160 horsepower and a blistering 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.6 seconds. The Valkyrie fetched $2,648,750, solidifying its status as one of the most coveted hypercars of the year.
Other notable sales included the 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Roadster, which sold for $2,030,000, and the 2019 McLaren Senna LM, which went for $1,467,500. Both models were highly desirable, with low mileage and exceptional condition adding to their value.
Impressive Results Across the Board
The 2014 McLaren P1, another standout lot, achieved an above-estimate sale price of $1,186,250, reaffirming its position as one of the most iconic hypercars of its time. In addition, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series Coupé sold for $820,625, well above its high estimate.
The 2002 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG V12, which was owned by the Dubai royal family from new, set a new world record when it fetched $398,750. This rare model’s provenance and exclusivity added significant value at auction.
