This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see McLaren Automotive deliver an unforgettable display of engineering mastery, motorsport heritage, and future-focused innovation. The highlight of the event is the public debut of the McLaren W1, a new supercar that joins the brand’s celebrated ‘1’ car lineage alongside the legendary McLaren F1 and McLaren P1™. Designed for both road and track, the W1 features a 1,275PS V8 hybrid powertrain, cutting-edge active aerodynamics inspired by Formula 1, and a focus on driver engagement that cements its place as a new benchmark in performance. All 399 units have already been allocated to customers.
The unveiling of the W1 is complemented by a milestone celebration—30 years since McLaren’s historic victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In tribute, the #59 McLaren F1 GTR that won the race in 1995 will make a rare dynamic run up the Goodwood Hill, driven by original team member JJ Lehto. Fresh from its appearance in the “McLaren a Name for Eternity” exhibition at the Le Mans Museum, the car is a direct link to one of motorsport’s greatest moments.

Adding to the celebrations is the first public showing of the McLaren 750S Le Mans special edition. Limited to just 50 units, this exclusive model features a bespoke McLaren Special Operations (MSO) High Downforce Kit, enhancing track performance while paying homage to the iconic McLaren F1 LM road car that commemorated the 1995 win. Visitors to McLaren House at Goodwood will get an up-close look at the craftsmanship and performance that define this rare edition.
Another star attraction is the McLaren Solus GT, returning to Goodwood for the third consecutive year. This single-seat, track-only hypercar is powered by an 840PS naturally aspirated V10 engine and weighs under 1,000kg. Known for winning the Timed Shootout Final in 2023, the Solus GT embodies McLaren’s ability to turn radical design concepts into reality. A customer-owned example will once again take on the hillclimb, showcasing the bespoke artistry of MSO.
For Formula 1 fans, McLaren will present the 750S and Artura MCL38 Celebration Edition models, commemorating the team’s 2024 Constructors’ Championship win. Only nine examples of each will be built, distinguished by Papaya Orange and Anthracite livery curated by MSO. These special editions bring a direct connection between McLaren’s track dominance and its road car portfolio.
