Project24 is Maserati’s codename for its upcoming limited-series track-only sports car project. With just 62-examples planned for production, this project is expected to take the brand’s prestige level up a notch by taking exclusivity and, more importantly, performance “to a new level of adrenaline on the track.”

This two-seater, two-wheel-drive car is based on the Maserati MC20, but enhanced with higher technical specifications. The brand’s signature three-litre V6 Nettuno engine gets new turbochargers that raise its power to 740hp. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed sequential racing gearbox and paddle shifters.

Maserati Project24

It has a double-wishbone suspension with an innovative semi-virtual steering axis, Brembo’s new carbon-ceramic braking system, and has FIA-approved safety features, including an FIA-homologated safety roll cage.

The brand’s obsession with lightness is taken to new extremes. The target weight of the new Maserati vehicle is set to be below 1,250 kg. The resulting power-to-weight ratio of approximately 1.69 kg/hp should deliver some exhilarating performances.

Part of the weight reduction comes from the all-new carbon-fibre bodywork with some components made from natural fibres. To ensure rigidity, it has an ultra-light carbon fibre central monocoque. It has all-new high-performance aerodynamic enhancements, which include the multi-adjustable front and rear wings. It has Bespoke forged 18″ aluminium rims with a centre lock system and slick tyres.

Maserati Project24

The track-oriented interior has a single racing seat with a 6-point racing safety belt. The passenger seat is an optional extra. The multi-functional carbon-fibre steering wheel, with a built-in display, is adjustable, as are the pedals. Air conditioning and adjustable racing ABS, and traction control come as standard.

Designed by Centro Stile Maserati, Project24 has a completely new look compared to the MC20. The result is a completely fresh look that combines beauty with extreme performance. It has all the makings of a collector’s item.

Maserati will offer, we are informed, “a unique range of services” exclusively for the owners of Project24, including track-specific experiences and state-of-the-art support.
