Marking a hundred years of the Phantom, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, a breathtaking tribute to a century of automotive excellence. Limited to just 25 units, this collection embodies the spirit of craftsmanship, engineering mastery, and artistic ambition that has defined the marque since 1925. Each model stands as both a masterpiece of contemporary luxury and a time capsule of the brand’s illustrious past, merging innovation with heritage in ways that only Rolls-Royce can.

The exterior of the Phantom Centenary evokes the glamour of cinema’s golden era. Its Bespoke two-tone finish—Super Champagne Crystal over Arctic White and Black—creates a luminous effect achieved through champagne-tinted glass particles suspended in the paint. Crowning the design is the first Spirit of Ecstasy ever fitted to a Phantom, now recast in solid 18-carat gold and hallmarked in London, symbolizing both the endurance and evolution of this legendary nameplate. Even the signature ‘RR’ badge is reimagined in 24-carat gold and white enamel, adding a note of discreet opulence to the façade.

Inside, the cabin unfolds like a visual memoir of Phantom’s journey through the decades. Every surface tells a story—from the couturier-crafted textiles of the rear seats, inspired by the 1926 “Phantom of Love,” to laser-etched leather and intricate embroidery totaling over 160,000 stitches. Each motif celebrates the people and places that shaped Phantom’s legacy, fusing haute couture techniques with automotive artistry. Developed with a Parisian fashion atelier, the seats achieve an extraordinary depth of narrative, turning the interior into a living canvas of motion and memory.

The woodwork inside the Phantom Centenary represents the most complex marquetry ever attempted by Rolls-Royce. Using 3D multi-directional marquetry, laser etching, gold leafing, and 3D ink layering, artisans have rendered maps, floral motifs, and historical landscapes that trace Phantom’s journey from Le Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer to Goodwood. The routes themselves are inlaid with 24-carat gold, with each location from Sir Henry Royce’s homes to early Rolls-Royce test routes marked with exquisite precision. It is a narrative told not in words but in wood, light, and texture.

At the center of this creative odyssey lies the Anthology Gallery, a sculptural installation of brushed aluminum fins resembling the pages of an open book. Each fin bears quotations from press archives, lit by a kinetic illumination that mimics the flicker of fireworks—an ode to Phantom’s century-long dialogue with culture, craftsmanship, and innovation. Meanwhile, the Starlight Headliner, with over 440,000 stitches, captures scenes from the marque’s heritage, including Henry Royce beneath the mulberry tree at his West Wittering home, surrounded by the constellations of past and present Phantoms.

Under its commanding bonnet, the legendary 6.75-litre V12 engine continues to represent the soul of the Phantom, detailed with 24-carat gold flourishes against an Arctic White finish. Together, these features make the Centenary Private Collection not just a car, but an heirloom of engineering and design—a contemporary artefact that celebrates the fusion of power, grace, and legacy.

As Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Chris Brownridge expressed, “This extraordinary work of art reaffirms Phantom’s status as a symbol of ambition, artistic possibility, and historical gravitas.” With the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, Rolls-Royce has created not merely an automobile, but an enduring expression of human creativity—a century distilled into motion.
