This May, Akabeko, Dubai’s pioneering tabletop Yakiniku destination nestled in the heart of Palm Jumeirah, invites guests to explore the exquisite world of Japanese grilling through a curated array of culinary offerings. Renowned for its authentic presentation of premium A5 Kuroge Wagyu with up to 12 marbled cuts, Akabeko merges tradition with innovation, crafting immersive experiences that go beyond the table. The highlight of the season is the unveiling of its much-anticipated Three-Tier Set Menu—a gastronomic journey designed to cater to varying levels of palates, alongside limited-time experiences like the whimsical Wagyu Jenga, a serene Matcha Afternoon Tea, a refined Teishoku Business Lunch, and exclusive Happy Hours.

At the center of Akabeko’s May offerings is the new Three-Tier Set Menu, an elegant culinary trilogy that transports diners across the diverse landscapes of Japanese Yakiniku dining. Guests can begin their journey with the Akabeko Set, a six-course experience ideal for first-time visitors. This introductory offering includes a seasonal appetizer platter, a crisp Akabeko Salad, and a delicate seasonal Miso Soup, followed by a trio of Wagyu cuts selected by the chef. For the main course, guests may choose from a comforting Wagyu Curry, hearty Wagyu Stew, or a refreshing Yuzu Ramen, before concluding the experience with a signature dessert.

For those seeking a deeper dive into Akabeko’s world, the Signature Set offers a ten-course affair crafted to please the curious and discerning alike. Beginning again with the restaurant’s seasonal appetizer platter and salad, the set then presents a Wagyu sushi selection of the day and the flavorful Negi-tan. Three Wagyu cuts of the day follow, with Ribeye Suki, Yakiniku Don, and Yuzu Ramen bringing a crescendo of bold umami notes. A final dessert rounds off this luxurious journey through Japanese flavors.

The pinnacle of this trilogy is the Ultimate Set—a 12-course feast created for those with a developed appreciation for the art of Japanese cuisine. This expert-level menu is an ode to indulgence, introducing opulent elements like Sea Urchin, Truffle, Hokkaido Scallops, and Foie Gras. Dishes such as the Akabeko Jewel Cup, Golden Nigiri, Negi Tongue Wrap, and Thick-Cut Tongue demonstrate the finesse of Akabeko’s culinary team. Following a trio of Wagyu cuts—including two secondary and one prime selection—the meal advances with Truffle Foie Gras Claypot Rice, Ribeye Suki, and Katsu Temaki, concluding on a high note with Truffle Ice Cream.

All three set menus are available throughout 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday, offering diners a refined yet playful introduction to the distinctive art of Japanese Yakiniku.

Complementing the set menus are several signature experiences exclusive to May. Among them is the Matcha Afternoon Tea, an inspired offering that merges sweet and savory elements in a Zen garden-style setting. Matcha lovers can enjoy Wagyu Cheeseburger Sliders, Mini Croissants, Bao Buns, and Grilled Rice Balls, alongside Japanese confections like Matcha Macarons, Dorayaki, Roll Cake, and a Caramel Matcha Pudding. The tea menu, presented in partnership with Mucharaka Tea, includes hot, cold, and sparkling tea variations, enhancing this uniquely Japanese mid-day escape. This experience is available by reservation only.

In a more playful twist, Wagyu Jenga introduces an entertaining and interactive experience where diners engage with a custom Jenga set built from actual A5 Wagyu beef blocks. This culinary game, exclusive to Akabeko, combines premium marbling with a touch of fun—perfect for families and groups. Guests are encouraged to book and prepay in advance to enjoy this imaginative dining encounter.

For professionals seeking a sophisticated lunch in the heart of Palm Jumeirah, Akabeko’s Teishoku Business Lunchoffers five meticulously prepared Wagyu-based set meals. From Wagyu Katsu Curry and Stew to Beko Bao, Yakiniku, and Soondubu sets, each combination balances nutrition, taste, and artistry. The lunch is available Tuesday to Sunday between 12 PM and 4 PM.

Rounding off the month’s offerings is Happy Hour at Akabeko, where guests can unwind in the cozy interiors or outdoor ambiance with exclusive beverage deals. From Tuesday to Friday between 6 PM and 8 PM, Akabeko offers select discounts on pints, cocktails, and sake, adding a refreshing note to Dubai’s after-hours scene.

With its commitment to premium ingredients, traditional preparation, and imaginative concepts, Akabeko continues to redefine Japanese dining in Dubai. Whether guests are looking for a grand evening of gourmet indulgence or a casual afternoon of matcha delights, May at Akabeko promises moments of flavor, flair, and unforgettable experiences.
