This September, Khadak, the award-winning destination for contemporary Indian dining, opens its doors to a rare and regal experience. From the 13th to the 21st, the restaurant will host a seven-day kitchen takeover by celebrated chef Kulsum Begum, known for her mastery of royal Hyderabadi and Lucknowi cuisines. Guests will be invited to embark on a gastronomic journey that revives the splendour of India’s culinary heritage through an opulent seven-course tasting menu.

Kulsum Begum has long been admired for her ability to translate the grandeur of princely kitchens into refined, contemporary expressions. At Khadak, she will present a menu that pays homage to the traditions of the Nizams of Hyderabad and the Nawabs of Lucknow, where cuisine was as much an art form as it was a ritual of hospitality. Each dish has been designed to reflect this ethos, rich in flavour, history, and narrative.

The seven-course menu is a celebration of time-honoured techniques and luxurious ingredients, thoughtfully composed to balance authenticity with modern sensibilities. Expect aromatic biryanis layered with saffron, kebabs prepared to melt on the tongue, and curries that unfold in delicate harmonies of spice. Every course tells a story of legacy, shaped by centuries of culinary refinement.

For Khadak, this collaboration is an extension of its vision: to provide diners with a stage where India’s diverse culinary traditions can shine in both their authenticity and evolution. Known for its contemporary approach, the restaurant becomes, for one week, a royal durbar—inviting guests to experience Indian cuisine not just as food but as cultural inheritance.

The atmosphere at Khadak will be curated to heighten this sense of immersion. Designed to echo the grandeur of palace kitchens, the dining room will transform into an intimate setting where storytelling and gastronomy intertwine, giving every guest a seat at the royal table.

Chef Begum’s presence underscores the rising appreciation for regional Indian cuisines within the global dining scene. Her culinary philosophy, rooted in honouring heritage while embracing innovation, reflects a broader cultural moment—where diners seek not only exquisite flavours but also the narratives that shape them.

For one week only, Khadak promises a dining experience that transcends the everyday, offering a rare opportunity to taste the history, artistry, and splendour of royal India. With Chef Kulsum Begum at the helm, the restaurant invites guests to savour a feast of stories, served across seven unforgettable courses.
