The Woodward Hotel in Geneva and Piaget have come together for the second consecutive year to brighten up the holiday season with elegant decorations and bold gourmet delicacies.
The Woodward is a 26 suites luxury hotel Located on Quai Wilson, on the shores of Lake Geneva, and offers panoramic views of Mont Blanc. It became the first all-suite hotel in Geneva when it reopened in 2021 following an extraordinary renovation by renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. Originally built in 1901 in a post-Haussmann style, the hotel has two gourmet restaurants – L’Atelier Robuchon and Le Jardinier – two bars, private lounges, a 1200 square-metre Guerlain Spa and a private sports club.
For this festive season, the hotel’s talented pastry chef, Titouan Claudet, has created the “Extraleganza” Yule log. Inspired by Piaget, it subtly combines the extravagance and elegance of the Swiss jeweller and watchmaker. On a crunchy dark chocolate biscuit, topped with a creamy fleur de sel chocolate, hides a delicate flowing praline heart, refreshed with a delicately fruity cocoa pod juice, and coated in a light cocoa nib-flavoured mousse. Chiselled in homage to the House’s signature Palace décor motif, the solar sphere reflects the brilliance of light, and is beautifully contrasted by the softness of the velvety beige topping.
This limited edition is available for purchase online, for 4 to 6 people, and is available for pick-up at the hotel from 22 to 26 December. Proceeds from each sale will be donated to the Action Innocence foundation, which plays an active role in the education of children and teenagers by creating content and tools to support them in their digital practices, as well as dealing with dangerous subjects online.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s two restaurants have curated festive menus skilfully prepared by executive chef, Olivier Jean. The Christmas Eve menu at Le Jardinier will be served in one of the venue’s two verandas. The New Year’s Eve menu will be accompanied by live music throughout the evening. Festive brunches, serving a generous and convivial dining experience from 10.30am to 3pm, will be on the menu between December 25 and January 1.
L’Atelier Robuchon, recently awarded two Michelin stars, will serve a 6-course menu on December 24. Guests wishing to watch the ballet of the chefs in the kitchen from the counter to celebrate the New Year will be offered the New Year’s Eve menu, accompanied by live music.
