Manish Malhotra shattered conventions at India Couture Week with a landmark event that was less fashion show, more fashion revolution. Hosted at the opulent Taj Palace in New Delhi, the designer presented India’s first-ever Couture Party — a heady celebration where couture flowed through the crowd, music ignited the room, and legacy took center stage. Breaking away from traditional runway formalities, Malhotra invited guests into an immersive, interactive showcase featuring his new collection, INAYA, alongside treasured archival pieces and exquisite creations from Manish Malhotra High Jewellery.
The designer’s latest line INAYA marked a new chapter in cocktail couture, imagined during quiet moments at home and brought to life in bold silhouettes and shimmering embellishments. For women, this meant hypnotic swirl skirts, fluid saris with crystal pallus, and sculpted tops; for men, sharply tailored tuxedos and bandhgalas redefined formalwear. Each look was elevated by High Jewellery signatures – from heirloom jhumkas to regal brooches – that added timeless glamour to the collection’s modern drama.
The evening reached its crescendo with the debut of global fashion icon Alessandra Ambrosio, making her first appearance in an Indian couture presentation. As the official muse, she wore two breathtaking looks: The Lady Crystal Diamond, a dazzling draped ensemble of crystal embroidery, and The Pearl Story, a sculptural vision of layered tulle and cascading pearls. Her presence sealed the night’s global significance and reasserted Malhotra’s role as a cross-cultural fashion force.
Complementing the couture with rhythm and resonance was an all-women performer line-up — including Jonita Gandhi, DJ Kayan, and Lush Lata — transforming the showcase into a pulsating tribute to female artistry. With no runway, no rigid formality, and every detail designed to feel personal and powerful, Manish Malhotra’s Couture Party has officially reset the tone for how Indian fashion can be seen, felt, and celebrated.
