Fabergé, the legendary jeweler celebrated for its artistic innovation, joins forces with Tim Burton, the mastermind behind the fantastical world of Beetlejuice, to create a striking collector’s piece: the Fabergé x Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Egg Objet. In partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, this unique creation embodies both Fabergé’s timeless craftsmanship and Burton’s signature gothic style. Designed to intrigue collectors and art enthusiasts alike, this Egg Objet is a rare tribute to both artistic legacies, capturing the surreal and the exquisite in equal measure.
A Visionary Collaboration
Scheduled for unveiling in 2025, this unique creation brings together the creative minds of Tim Burton, Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, and Fabergé’s distinguished design team, including Creative Director Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell and Head of Design Liisa Tallgren. This collaboration encapsulates Burton’s whimsical yet dark artistry, adding an air of mystique that aligns perfectly with Fabergé’s longstanding tradition of extraordinary and evocative pieces.
“This amazing collaboration with Fabergé would not have been complete, without a spectacular, unique egg objet,” Burton has stated. “Having had such creative freedom, I wanted to create a piece with Fabergé which was humorous and fun, whilst also honouring the company’s legendary quality and specialism in movement and animation. A pièce de resistance, I loved dreaming up this wonderful work of art, which also houses a hidden ‘celebration ring’ – I’d love to see someone make a special proposal with it!”
Iconic Design Elements and Unprecedented Craftsmanship
Reflecting the monochromatic tones of the Beetlejuice universe, the egg’s intricate design recalls key visual motifs from Burton’s cinematic work. From Betelgeuse’s notorious striped suit to eerie coiled Headworms and Sandworms at its base, each element immerses viewers into Burton’s fantastical realm. The shell itself consists of intricate ‘leaves’ that seem stitched together—a nod to Delores, a new character in the 2024 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice sequel. For the first time in Fabergé history, the egg’s gull-wing mechanism opens both the top and bottom halves in unison, unveiling a hidden gem-set wedding cake inspired by a pivotal wedding scene from the film.
Inside, this wedding cake holds a final surprise: a custom celebration ring, adorned with a 2.2-carat responsibly sourced Gemfields ruby. As a fitting nod to Fabergé’s heritage, this elegant twist captures the brand’s ability to create collectibles that are equal parts artistry and legacy.
An Iconic Milestone for Fabergé
Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, Fabergé’s Creative Director, stated, “Having been a long-time admirer of Tim Burton’s work and creative output, this co-creation has been a dream-come-true. In many ways, Peter Carl Fabergé was the original collaborator in that he allowed his Workmasters to ‘brand‘ their creations with their own hallmarks and frequently teamed up with best-in-class talent. This way of merging creative brilliance at the highest level inspires us to this day to join forces with like-minded creators, always finding new and unexpected synergies which come to life in unique and collectible creations. We could not have had more fun working with Tim and Colleen. This truly marks an exceptional milestone in our modern-day history.”
A Legacy for Modern Connoisseurs
With over 180 years of history, Fabergé continues to redefine the world of luxury objets d’art, celebrating its heritage while pushing the boundaries of what is possible in high-end artistry. Through this collaboration, Fabergé cements its position at the forefront of collectible luxury, producing pieces that appeal to both connoisseurs and new generations who appreciate artistry with a touch of the fantastical.
