This Eid, escape not to crowds, but to quiet beauty. To the refined cadence of cobblestone streets, to rooftops touched by Tuscan light, and to evenings steeped in centuries of art and architecture. With the Lungarno Collection’s Portrait Hotels in Florence and Milan, the holiday becomes more than rest—it becomes rediscovery.

At Portrait Firenze, the cradle of the Renaissance unveils itself in intimate ways. Guests are granted rare access to the Uffizi Gallery, where icons like Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera appear as if unbound by time. The experience continues in near solitude through the Accademia, where Michelangelo’s David towers in reverent silence. Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce—each historic space becomes a personal encounter, guided not by audio tours but by awe.

Evenings are transformed into art. Within the gilded chambers of Palazzo dei Medici-Corsini, guests dine among frescoes and shadowed grottoes once designed for Medici opulence. A Tuscan menu unfolds with contemporary sensitivity, each course an homage to the region’s flavours and legacy. And for those with a love of craftsmanship, Antico Setificio Fiorentino, a working silk mill since the 18th century, opens its looms and its soul—culminating in a meal served in the very atelier where threads of gold and history intertwine.

Florence’s magic extends beyond the museums. Dinner at La Leggenda dei Frati, one of the city’s most intimate culinary addresses, offers a dialogue between garden-grown simplicity and refined technique. Or rise to the tenth floor of a medieval tower in San Gimignano, where candlelight flickers against ancient stone and the skyline fades into starlight.

In Portrait Milano, the journey takes on a cinematic quality. Begin beneath the Duomo, where the ancient foundations echo stories long buried, and emerge onto the rooftop terraces that once inspired Twain and Stendhal. Then step into the unseen heart of Milanese theatre at La Scala’s Ansaldo Workshops, where the ballet and opera worlds are built by hand, behind the curtain.

Milan’s quieter stories are no less compelling. On a private walk through the Quadrilatero del Silenzio, the city’s poetic soul is revealed—through the illusions of Bramante, the whispering courtyards of Villa Necchi, and the lush geometry of forgotten gardens. Here, history lives not in grand gestures, but in pauses.

Portrait Milano invites guests to dream beyond itineraries. A bespoke private concert? You choose the chapel or rooftop. A curated tasting menu in a hidden garden? Only the finest sounds and flavours await. Every detail is intentional, every note tuned to personal resonance.

And for those who crave one final exhale, the journey stretches north to Lake Iseo, where the legendary Riva shipyard still shapes icons of leisure. Tour the original atelier, then glide across the water aboard your private yacht to Riva Privée at Osteria Spirito Divino, where a four-course meal pays homage to the Italian art of dolce far niente—the sweetness of doing absolutely nothing, perfectly.

Lungarno Collection doesn’t offer itineraries. It offers immersion—into art, into stillness, into a deeper kind of travel. This Eid, step not into a destination, but into a dialogue. One written in frescoes, echoed in opera halls, and carried by a breeze across the Arno.
