Anantara Chiang Mai Resort unveils an extraordinary addition to its luxurious offerings: the Dibba Yana Chitta or “Heavenly Boat.” Designed by Thailand’s iconic National Artist Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat—creator of the world-famous White Temple in Chiang Rai—this unique vessel combines timeless Thai craftsmanship with unparalleled artistic vision.
A Masterpiece by Thailand’s National Artist
Ajarn Chalermchai, renowned globally for his visionary works, draws inspiration for the Dibba Yana Chitta from his celebrated paintings of the same name. The design symbolizes a journey from the earthly realm to paradise, with the boat’s mythical figurehead embodying a divine vessel guiding passengers to a heavenly destination. Crafted in homage to Ayutthayan-era boats, this vessel fuses traditional influences with Chalermchai’s signature style, making it a floating piece of art.
Exclusive Culinary Adventures on the Mae Ping River
This 18-seat luxury vessel offers an intimate, exclusive dining experience, where guests embark on a culinary journey curated by Thailand’s top Michelin-starred chefs. For its inaugural season, Chef Piyachart Phudtawong (Chef Boy) of Bangkok’s renowned Saneh Jaan restaurant presents a seven-course menu inspired by rare royal Thai recipes, paired with premium wines from Monsoon Valley.
Chef Boy, known for his traditional Thai desserts and culinary expertise, brings a perfect blend of authenticity and innovation to the dining table, creating an experience unlike any other.
Sunset Cruises with a Touch of Thai Heritage
The Dibba Yana Chitta departs daily at 5:30 pm from Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s private pier, offering guests stunning sunset views along the Mae Ping River. To further immerse themselves in Thai culture, diners can wear traditional Thai costumes for photo opportunities and enjoy live classical Thai music throughout the evening.
Dinner is priced at THB 6,999++ per person, with optional wine pairings for an additional THB 1,999++. Reservations for this one-of-a-kind experience are now open, with the first voyage beginning on 24 December 2024.
