Nespresso and The Weeknd Expand Samra Origins with New Coffee and Accessories in the UAE

This September, Nespresso unveils the next chapter in its creative collaboration with Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye through Samra Origins, the artisanal coffee brand dedicated to his mother, Samra. More than a collection, it is a love letter—an homage to heritage, artistry, and the everyday rituals that make coffee a symbol of connection.

The latest release introduces Samra Origins Tanzania, a single-origin 100% Arabica sourced from the Mount Kilimanjaro region in the Northern Highlands. Delicate fruit and citrus notes intertwine with subtle dry cereal undertones, creating a cup that balances vibrancy with depth. This carefully curated profile reflects both Nespresso’s mastery of coffee craft and The Weeknd’s instinct for storytelling through sensory experience.

The launch extends beyond the coffee itself. A co-branded Vertuo Pop machine, accented with Samra Origins’ distinctive logo, will debut this fall, transforming the daily ritual into a design-forward moment. The collection also includes accessories—a sleek tumbler and a travel mug—that carry the capsule’s bold aesthetic into life on the move. Together, they form a suite of products that embody style as much as substance.

For The Weeknd, the project resonates on a personal level. “Growing up, coffee was a deeply meaningful ritual. That connection inspired my own journey — and starting a coffee company felt natural,” he shares. By merging his artistry with Nespresso’s global reach, the collaboration bridges personal memory with universal rituals, transforming coffee into an act of cultural storytelling.

Nespresso, in turn, celebrates the collaboration as a testament to how creativity and coffee can unite people. “Working alongside Abel and Samra Origins has allowed us to blend our dedication to exceptional flavour with his visionary artistry,” says Philipp Navratil, CEO of Nespresso. “This collection is a celebration of how coffee and creativity can enrich lives.”

The phased rollout begins this September with Samra Origins Tanzania Original capsules and accessories, followed by the co-branded Vertuo Pop+ machine in October and the Vertuo capsules in November. Available online and in boutiques across the UAE, the collection offers fans and coffee lovers alike a chance to join this evolving dialogue between craft and culture.

With Samra Origins, Nespresso and The Weeknd prove that coffee is more than a beverage—it is a moment of connection, a vessel for heritage, and a canvas for artistry. In every sip, the spirit of Samra lives on, woven into a ritual that is as personal as it is universal.
