Bentley Reveals Bentayga X Concept at FAT Ice Race, Expanding Its Off-Road Vision

At the icy spectacle of Zell am See, Bentley Motors unveils the Bentayga X Concept, a striking exploration of heightened off-road capability. Presented at the FAT Ice Race as part of a new multi-year partnership with FAT International, the concept reimagines the Bentayga’s breadth of ability through a more focused, adventure-driven lens. Developed to stimulate customer feedback, it signals Bentley’s intent to push its luxury SUV into more extreme terrain.

Built on the foundation of the Bentayga Speed, the concept retains the formidable 650 PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with permanent all-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission. Bentley Dynamic Ride, the marque’s 48V electric active anti-roll control system, supports confident handling, ensuring the vehicle’s new off-road stance does not compromise its dynamic sophistication.

Visually and mechanically transformed, the Bentayga X Concept adopts forged one-piece 22-inch wheels by Brixton, fitted with large aspect ratio off-road tyres. The track has been widened by 120 mm to enhance stability, while ride height increases by 55 mm to maximise suspension travel and ground clearance. Wheel arches extend outward by 40 mm, enabling a wading depth exceeding 550 mm and ground clearance approaching 310 mm.

Functionality drives the exterior narrative. Roof-mounted storage and four spotlights underscore its expedition-ready character, raising overall height to 2.49 metres. A prominent titanium sports exhaust by Akrapovi? remains visible at the rear, complemented by twin towing eyes at the front. Even an electric Bambino-sized go-kart is secured atop the roof, a nod to FAT’s grassroots motorsport heritage.

The debut also marks the beginning of Bentley’s broader collaboration with FAT International, the organisation known for celebrating automotive culture through events like the FAT Ice Race and FAT Mankei. Bentley’s presence extends beyond the concept itself, with standout models including the Continental GT S, Continental GTC S and a Speed Six Continuation from Mulliner taking to the ice or on display alongside the Bentayga Speed.

Drivers and automotive personalities add further theatre to the event, reinforcing the Ice Race’s fusion of performance and culture. By positioning the Bentayga X Concept within this vibrant setting, Bentley underscores its appetite for experimentation while celebrating a shared passion for cars in extreme environments.

Through the Bentayga X Concept, Bentley revisits a defining aspect of luxury mobility — versatility. It demonstrates how heightened off-road capability can coexist with handcrafted refinement, expanding the Bentayga’s identity into more adventurous territory while staying rooted in performance, presence and prestige.
