Amidst the captivating spectacle of Monterey Car Week, where automotive heritage, craftsmanship, and unparalleled beauty converge, Bugatti unveiled its latest masterpiece: the Destrier. This exclusive vehicle marks the third one-of-one creation born from the marque’s esteemed Programme Solitaire, making its highly anticipated physical debut in California after an earlier digital reveal. The Destrier now rightfully claims its place among the most exquisite vehicles crafted under this bespoke offering.

Conceived for a singular discerning customer, the Destrier transcends mere transportation to become a pure sculpture of speed. It ingeniously transforms the formidable technical underpinnings of Bugatti’s most extreme track-focused creation, the Bolide, into an object of profound elegance, seamless proportion, and enduring beauty.
The week commenced with a deeply personal unveiling for the car’s fortunate owner and their family, alongside the dedicated Bugatti team. This intimate presentation took place at the exquisite Maison BUGATTI amidst the refined elegance of Pebble Beach. The occasion united the customer and their loved ones with an esteemed cadre of Bugatti representatives, including Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac; Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director of Bugatti; Frank Heyl, Director of Design; Sascha Doering, COO of Bugatti of the Americas; and representatives from Bugatti Greenwich, all of whom played pivotal roles in bringing this unique creation to life.

In a fitting tribute to such a magnificent creation and the collective artistry of Bugatti’s master craftspeople, an intimate Bugatti Petit Tour unfolded across the breathtaking Monterey Peninsula. This exclusive journey along the Californian coastline celebrated the essence of the brand. Traversing dramatic Pacific vistas and some of North America’s most picturesque driving roads, the Destrier’s custodian and other esteemed members of the Bugatti family revelled in a voyage from Spanish Bay towards the iconic Big Sur, culminating back at the Maison BUGATTI in Pebble Beach.

The week’s activities reached their zenith with the majestic gathering at Pebble Beach: the public physical premiere of the Destrier at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Here, this remarkable creation was unveiled to an international audience of media, collectors, and distinguished guests. Introduced by Mate Rimac and Frank Heyl before its exhibition on the Concours’ Concept Lawn, the presentation provided an invaluable opportunity to delve into the car’s profound design philosophy—a vision that masterfully transforms Bugatti’s most extreme engineering package into a paragon of pure elegance, driven by the relentless pursuit of aerodynamic performance.
The Destrier thus pioneers a new design language for Bugatti, a captivating celebration of breathtaking proportions and perpetual beauty. This philosophy seamlessly fuses grace, dignity, and style, meticulously conceived to endure through generations, solidifying its status as an inimitable jewel in Bugatti’s illustrious narrative.
Through the exclusive Programme Solitaire, Bugatti steadfastly honours the venerable coachbuilding tradition that has intrinsically shaped its identity for over a century. This rarefied program is limited to the creation of only the most exquisite one-of-one masterpieces, extending even beyond the bespoke offerings of Bugatti Sur Mesure. It grants owners the extraordinary opportunity to realise automotive dreams of unparalleled depth and personal significance. Following the distinguished Brouillard and F.K.P. Hommage, the Destrier now magnificently opens the next captivating chapter in this bespoke journey.
