At Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, the world’s largest gaming event, Samsung Electronics unveiled the latest additions to its celebrated Odyssey lineup, introducing the large-screen Odyssey G7 monitors and expanding its Odyssey 3D ecosystem. The debut reinforced Samsung’s dominance in premium gaming displays while highlighting its growing partnerships with top game developers and publishers.

The new Odyssey G7, available in 37-inch 4K UHD and 40-inch Wide UHD formats, brings enhanced resolution, higher refresh rates, and immersive performance tailored to next-generation gaming. Designed for multitasking and cinematic visuals, the monitors feature VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, HDR10+ Gaming, AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro, and Samsung’s CoreSync lighting, blending technical excellence with user-friendly flexibility.

Gamers at Gamescom experienced titles like Genshin Impact on the new Odyssey G7 models, showcasing how the displays handle vibrant, open-world graphics. With Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture functionality, the monitors double as productivity powerhouses, a nod to Samsung’s strategy of appealing to both competitive players and hybrid lifestyle users.

But Samsung’s bigger play was the continued rollout of its glasses-free Odyssey 3D gaming, offering immersive depth without headsets or eyewear. Visitors were among the first to try exclusive 3D gameplay from SHIFT UP’s Stellar Bladeand Netmarble’s upcoming MONGIL: STAR DIVE, with finely tuned 3D effects customized for each title.

Samsung also expanded its Odyssey 3D Hub, the brand’s dedicated content platform, which already supports more than 25 3D-enabled titles. By year’s end, that figure will double to over 50 games, including anticipated releases like Lies of P: Overture. Adjustable depth settings further ensure players can tailor the 3D experience to their preferences.

Beyond the G7 and 3D models, Samsung spotlighted its Odyssey OLED monitors in collaborations with major studios. At the World of Warcraft booth, more than 80 units of the Odyssey OLED G6 delivered ultra-responsive 500Hz refresh rates, while Pearl Abyss relied on nearly 180 Samsung OLED displays to showcase its upcoming epic, Crimson Desert, in breathtaking clarity.

The presence underscored Samsung’s unrivalled influence in the gaming monitor space. Already the world’s No.1 gaming monitor brand for six consecutive years, Samsung held an 18.9% global market share in Q1 2025, with even stronger numbers in Europe, where it leads with 24.6%. Gamescom was as much a celebration of this leadership as it was a glimpse into the future.
