Set within Ashar Valley, Maraya invites guests for immersive Iftar and Suhoor experiences, complemented by restorative desert stays at Banyan Tree AlUla and Our Habitas AlUla.

For Ramadan 2026, Maraya—the world’s largest mirrored building—opens its doors for a reflective celebration in the heart of AlUla’s sandstone Ashar Valley. For the first time, the architectural landmark transforms into an expansive Ramadan majlis, inviting guests to gather where design, heritage and spirituality converge.

At sunset, Maraya becomes a luminous setting for Iftar, with awe-inspiring interiors and desert views framing a dining experience designed for both intimacy and scale. Seating accommodates up to 180 guests indoors and 100 outdoors, ensuring a convivial yet refined atmosphere throughout the Holy Month.

Iftar and Suhoor at Maraya

The Ramadan journey begins with a daily rotating Iftar buffet priced at SAR 250 per person, showcasing traditional soups, mezze platters, slow-cooked regional specialties and live cooking stations alongside international influences. The culinary offering balances heritage flavours with contemporary execution.

As night deepens, Suhoor unfolds beneath the desert sky. Shisha lounges and BBQ stations create a relaxed ambience, complemented by soulful live performances and ambient lighting that mirrors the serenity of the surrounding valley. Cultural pop-ups and artisanal workshops spotlight regional craftsmanship, while a dedicated children’s area ensures families are warmly welcomed.

Together, these elements position Ramadan at Maraya as more than a meal—it is an immersive gathering rooted in reflection and shared experience.

Luxury Desert Stays in AlUla

Beyond Maraya’s mirrored façade, the experience flows naturally into AlUla’s most sought-after desert sanctuaries.

Banyan Tree AlUla: A Private Villa Sanctuary in Ashar Valley

Nestled within the dramatic landscape of Ashar Valley, Banyan Tree AlUla presents a serene all-villa retreat inspired by Nabataean architecture and Bedouin heritage. The resort comprises 47 tented villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms, many with private pools overlooking the valley’s sculpted rock formations.

Exclusive Ramadan packages begin from SAR 4,200++ for a one-bedroom villa and include one Iftar and Suhoor experience at Maraya or the option of in-room Suhoor. Guests may also enjoy the infinity rock pool, the renowned Banyan Tree Spa and refined dining, including the brand’s signature Thai restaurant, Saffron.

Our Habitas AlUla: A Community-Driven Desert Retreat

At Our Habitas AlUla, Ramadan takes on a more communal dimension, framed by towering cliffs and expansive desert horizons. In addition to Maraya’s immersive Iftar and Suhoor experiences, guests may opt for intimate dining at Tama, where Middle Eastern and global flavours meet in a contemplative setting.

The Iftar set menu is priced at SAR 350 per person, while Suhoor is offered at SAR 250, delivering a refined yet comforting culinary experience in one of the Kingdom’s most atmospheric destinations.

Caravan by Our Habitas AlUla: Elevated Glamping Under the Stars

For a more adventurous yet grounded escape, Caravan by Our Habitas AlUla offers a glamping-inspired retreat defined by thoughtfully designed caravans and relaxed communal spaces. Rates start from SAR 1,111 per night inclusive of VAT.

Here, Ramadan unfolds beneath star-filled skies. Food trucks gather guests for Iftar and Suhoor, creating moments of connection and shared celebration against a backdrop of ancient rock formations and vast open desert.

A Holistic Ramadan Escape

Together, Maraya and AlUla’s leading desert retreats curate a seamless Ramadan journey—one that moves effortlessly between architectural wonder, culinary excellence and restorative hospitality. From reflective evenings within Maraya’s mirrored grandeur to tranquil nights immersed in the valleys of AlUla, the experience captures the essence of the Holy Month: contemplation, connection and shared celebration.
