In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger (1964), Fabergé has introduced two exclusive additions to its collaboration with James Bond, expanding the prestigious Fabergé x 007 collection. Inspired by the allure and legacy of the Bond films, the collection now includes the Fabergé x 007 Egg Safe Locket with Ruby Heart Surprise and the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Ring. Both pieces capture the essence of iconic Bond themes, blending artistic jewelry craftsmanship with the intrigue of cinematic history.
At the heart of the Fabergé x 007 Goldfinger capsule is the Egg Safe Locket, an 18k yellow gold piece inspired by the Fort Knox gold depository. This locket features a Gemfields Mozambican heart-shaped ruby encased in gold—a tribute to Goldfinger’s obsession with gold and a reference to the lyrics, “He loves only gold.” Opening like a traditional safe, this locket also displays a bail shaped like the ‘G’ of Goldfinger, echoing the style of the signet ring worn by the film’s antagonist. Each element of the locket ties to Bond’s universe, capturing the aesthetic essence of Goldfinger.
The collection’s second addition, the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Ring, crafted from 18k brushed yellow gold, mirrors the elegance of its namesake film. An octopus design wraps around the finger, with 48 round diamonds shimmering on the tentacles and two as the creature’s eyes. True to Fabergé’s tradition of incorporating hidden surprises, a responsibly mined Mozambican ruby is nestled inside the ring band—an intimate detail for the wearer. This piece honors Octopussy by encapsulating the mystery of the film within a striking wearable art piece.
Available to pre-order starting October 16, 2024, these additions join the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket and Limited-Edition Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Objet, which debuted in March 2024. Designed by Fabergé’s Head of Design, Liisa Tallgren, and overseen by Creative Director Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, these creations resonate with Fabergé’s legacy while honoring the elegance and culture of the Bond universe.
