Burberry says “Close Your Eyes and Think of Christmas”

“I wanted to portray a more realistic British Christmas, but still shot through a fantasy lens,” says Juno Calypso, who shot and directed Burberry’s new Christmas campaign film entitled ‘Close Your Eyes and Think of Christmas.’  Kristin Scott Thomas and M.I.A make their Burberry campaign debut in the film alongside previous campaign stars Matt Smith and Naomi Campbell. Valerie Morris-Campbell, Naomi’s mother, also appears.

“Burberry for me is a staple of British elegance and style. My mother’s Burberry trench was something I longed to borrow as a young girl, and when I got my first Burberry piece of my very own, I felt utterly grown up.” –  Kristin Scott Thomas, English Actress

A preview of the new Vivienne Westwood & Burberry collaboration can also be seen on Naomi Campbell and her mother, Valerie Morris-Campbell. The 16-piece collection will launch in-store and online on 6th December.

The coats and outerwear featured include a reversible check wool blend poncho, a double-faced cashmere collared cape with a self-tie belt, and a slim tailored suede trench. The car coat is reworked in check, and timeless quilted jackets are updated with a drawcord tie belt.

Lightweight cable-knit and relaxed turtleneck cashmere sweaters are available along with silk scarves that feature reissued archive prints and woven skinny scarves in chain silk jacquard having a D-ring fastening. Cashmere scarves sport the jacquard-woven Burberry lettering.

Stilettos and sling-back pumps in high gloss leather feature an oversized D-ring. Vintage check and black leather Chelsea boots are for men and women. Sneakers are set on an accentuated tread and come in a mix of suede, neoprene and leather, and in a selection of bright colours.

The belted leather tote is available in a range of new colours and styles including pastels with contrasting belts, styles printed with Equestrian Knight motifs and knitted with a two-tone link pattern. The new soft belt tote is framed with a slender trench-inspired belt. The D-ring bag comes in new colours including silver and bright red with a leather or chain strap. The 1983 check is revived on link bags, backpacks, bum bags and totes. Pin clutches come in leather, silk satin and faux fur, all pierced with an oversized archival kilt pin. A bonded leather holdall for men comes in navy, burgundy and black.

Jewellery pieces include chunky geometric drop earrings, leather detail grommet earrings, and marble resin charm chain bracelets and necklaces. Thomas Bear charms feature new fabrics and details including leather with a bowtie and a check poncho style. Alphabet charms are available in embellished crystal, circular marble and topstitched leather cuffs. Small leather accessories for men and women range from wallets to phone cases.
