ON Unveils Cloudsurfer Max: The Brand’s Most Cushioned Ride Yet

In its latest stride towards redefining performance footwear, ON has introduced the Cloudsurfer Max — the Swiss brand’s most cushioned shoe to date. Engineered for distance runners and comfort-seekers alike, this new silhouette delivers an ultra-smooth, pillowy ride designed to absorb impact without sacrificing momentum.

At the heart of the innovation is a double layer of CloudTec Phase™ technology, working in harmony with ON’s proprietary Helion™ superfoam. Together, they form a uniquely soft yet responsive platform that transitions seamlessly from heel strike to toe-off. This pairing ensures a stable yet buoyant feel underfoot, ideal for those who seek both protection and performance across miles.

Aesthetically bold yet functionally refined, the Cloudsurfer Max features a reworked engineered mesh upper, offering optimal breathability and lockdown fit. An updated eyestay and integrated tongue further elevate the shoe’s ergonomic design, while a flat-knit collar provides gentle support around the ankle without added weight. The result is a shoe that feels less like gear and more like an extension of the runner’s body.

The midsole construction has also been thoughtfully sculpted with carved-out geometry, reducing overall weight and creating ON’s signature rolling sensation. Every detail of the Cloudsurfer Max reflects the brand’s design philosophy of intelligent minimalism—delivering more with less.

To mark the launch, ON has rolled out a new global campaign titled “Soft Wins”, starring Olympic silver medallist and world champion Helen Obiri. The campaign is a quiet counter-narrative to the aggressive “go harder” mindset, instead celebrating softness, resilience, and the quiet confidence of pushing boundaries in your own way. Obiri’s presence brings authenticity and credibility to a shoe that aims to support athletes through every stage of their journey — with grace and power.

Whether you’re chasing a marathon finish line or your morning calm, the Cloudsurfer Max promises an effortless, plush ride that redefines what running on clouds truly feels like. It’s performance for those who believe progress doesn’t always have to feel punishing.

The ON Cloudsurfer Max is now available at on-running.com and select global retailers. It marks a new chapter for the brand — one where softness isn’t a compromise, but a superpower.
