Hublot marked a monumental milestone in the world of watchmaking, celebrating the 20th anniversary of its iconic Big Bang model with an unforgettable evening at the Geneva Arena, coinciding with the prestigious Watches & Wonders fair. This landmark event not only honored the revolutionary Big Bang timepiece but also showcased Hublot’s pioneering “Art of Fusion” philosophy, an idea that has been central to the brand’s success since its inception.

The event brought together the crème de la crème of international elites from various spheres, including watchmaking, sports, gastronomy, and music. Guests were treated to a sensory extravaganza that reflected Hublot’s commitment to pushing boundaries, blending worlds, and creating unforgettable experiences.

A Night of Culinary Excellence

A key highlight of the evening was the collaboration between some of the world’s most celebrated chefs. Hublot’s culinary partners, Anne-Sophie Pic, Clare Smyth, Yannick Alléno, Eneko Atxa, and Andreas Caminada, who collectively boast an astonishing 43 Michelin stars, created a gastronomic experience like no other. Each chef prepared their personalized signature dishes live, offering guests a unique opportunity to witness the artistry of fine dining firsthand. The fusion of flavors, textures, and techniques was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, elevating the celebration to new heights.

A Historic Moment for Hublot

Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot, welcomed the distinguished guests with an emotional speech reflecting on the Big Bang’s extraordinary journey. “Our icon, the Big Bang, has redefined the codes of contemporary watchmaking,” Tornare said. “Twenty years on, celebrating its revolutionary mindset, the Big Bang continues to embody the boldness, innovation, and pioneering spirit for which Hublot is renowned.” His words resonated deeply with the audience, marking a significant moment in the brand’s rich history.

A Star-Studded Celebration

The evening’s festivities were enhanced by a performance from Alissia, a Geneva-born, New York-based DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her eclectic mix of funk, R&B, and pop music set the perfect tone for the night. But the real showstopper came when pop sensation Mika took the stage, delivering an electrifying performance that had guests dancing and singing along to his iconic hits. Mika’s appearance was a fitting tribute to the celebratory atmosphere, as his energetic performance mirrored the bold spirit of the Big Bang.

As the night wore on, Alissia returned to the decks for a high-energy DJ set that kept the party alive into the early hours. The evening was a true celebration of creativity, innovation, and collaboration—values that are synonymous with both Hublot and its iconic Big Bang model.

The Big Bang: A Revolution in Watchmaking

Launched in 2005, the Big Bang was a groundbreaking timepiece that sent shockwaves through the world of fine watchmaking. At the time, its bold design and use of unconventional materials like ceramic, rubber, and titanium broke away from the traditional norms of Swiss watchmaking. The Big Bang’s striking proportions and avant-garde construction embodied Hublot’s commitment to innovation and creativity.

Over the past two decades, the Big Bang has continuously pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in watchmaking, from the introduction of cutting-edge materials to the development of new mechanical complications. More than just a watch, the Big Bang has become a canvas for Hublot to explore new ideas and collaborate with a diverse range of artists, athletes, and celebrities—each of whom has added their unique touch to the model’s legacy.

The “Art of Fusion” Philosophy

The 20th anniversary celebration was a testament to Hublot’s unwavering dedication to its “Art of Fusion” philosophy. This approach goes beyond the blending of materials; it also encompasses the merging of cultures, disciplines, and creative minds. The Big Bang’s design and spirit embody this philosophy, as it seamlessly combines traditional Swiss watchmaking with modern, daring elements.

Hublot’s collaborations with high-profile figures such as Kylian Mbappé, Usain Bolt, and many others have further reinforced the brand’s commitment to breaking down boundaries and redefining the watchmaking world. The anniversary celebration marked the first-ever meeting of two of Hublot’s most iconic ambassadors, Mbappé and Bolt, highlighting the intersection of sports and luxury—a fusion that has become a hallmark of the Hublot brand.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Hublot

As the Big Bang continues to evolve, it remains a symbol of Hublot’s pioneering spirit and unwavering commitment to innovation. The past two decades have proven that the Big Bang is not just a watch but a symbol of boldness, creativity, and transformation. Looking to the future, Hublot is set to continue pushing the boundaries of watchmaking, embracing new materials, technologies, and collaborations that will shape the next era of luxury timepieces.
