After a successful launch in September, 8th Lining – the Dubai based premium sartorial menswear brand that offers a broad selection of fine fabrics across various price ranges – has expanded its customisation options by adding to its selection of fine fabrics, and by announcing a new partnership with bespoke shoemaker Edoardo Cattaneo.
Adding to the existing range of high-quality fabrics from distinguished European drapers such as Dormeuil, Drago and Holland & Sherry, 8th Lining has added Stratosphere, along with the latest selection from Dormeuil, Fusion, Tropical Amadeus and Loro Piana to their selection.
Stratosphere, underlining the marque’s reputation for creative luxury, offers more than 30 different patterns and weights from 230 to 325grms/7.5oz. Fusion is a perfectly coordinated blend of precious materials that offer exceptional comfort and flawless drape. Tropical Amadeus is the extra-fine, modern and refreshing summer fabric that benefits from a more comfortable and luxurious finish for suits with great appeal. This plain weave fabric from the Amadeus family is ideal for the region’s summer.
Loro Piana, founded in 1924, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of super-luxe fabrics. Its high-quality range of fabrics shows an ongoing commitment to high-performance textile innovation and timeless Italian elegance. 8th Lining’s Loro Piana ranges include: Mare, which is a beautiful summertime fabric in linens, cottons and silk blends; Jackets, a Super 130s wools suitable for every occasion; Australis, an exceptional Super 150s wool which is as hard-wearing as it is light; Overcoat is a stunning collection of Camel Hair, Cashmere, New Zealand and Merino Wools in sophisticated mélanges.
To enhance its made-to-measure service, 8th Lining uses exclusive technology with a patented 3D body scanner that allows them to take over 200 measurements in less than a second. It helps obtain morphological data, and the style advisors determine the necessary comfort to meet the client’s needs. The combination of the scanner measurements and traditional physical measurements taken by the master tailor at the boutique can help the customer achieve the desired result of a well-fitted garment.
Recently, 8th Lining also announced a strategic partnership with bespoke shoemaker Edoardo Cattaneo, which enables the client to create a fully customised pair of shoes based on their likes and style with the help of a 3D Simulator.
Founded by Marco Lucio Cattaneo, the brand launched in November. The 8th Lining customers can now touch and feel different leather swatches and use the brand’s application to select different styles and patterns to construct their bespoke footwear. The request is fulfilled by the brand’s craftsmen in Spain and is shipped to customers worldwide within ten days, or up to four weeks for the most complicated customisation, which includes exquisite hand-painted Patina.
The highly skilled staff members at the boutique, trained in Paris, are up to date with the latest and contemporary clothing and footwear trends. Upon arrival at the boutique, guests are guided through the store where they can make a selection from over 1800 fabrics and over 150 design customisations from lapel type, to pockets, vents, the colour of the thread, jacket construction and many more. Once the looks are confirmed, customers now have the chance to create a bespoke shoe that complements the look, creating a one-stop-shop that meets all the needs of a discerning gentleman.
8th Lining offers affordable luxury. One can complete a wardrobe with custom-made shirts that range from AED 275 upwards, a two-piece suit starting from AED 1,450 and a full canvas suit for under AED 2,000. The Edoardo Cattaneo shoes range from AED 1,450 onwards.
