Celebrating Two Decades of Innovation
Greubel Forsey, the renowned Swiss watchmaker, celebrates its 20th anniversary by unveiling its 10th Fundamental Invention: the Nano Foudroyante EWT. Known for pushing the boundaries of horology, Greubel Forsey’s latest masterpiece brings revolutionary technology to a compact, limited-edition timepiece. This anniversary watch features the world’s first Nano Foudroyante perpetual display, coupled with Greubel Forsey’s first flying tourbillon. The result is a 37.9 mm white gold and tantalum timepiece, crafted with precision and energy management at the nanojoule scale.

Redefining Mechanical Watchmaking with Nanomechanics
The Nano Foudroyante EWT is a groundbreaking advancement in horology, as Greubel Forsey takes nanomechanics to unprecedented levels. Traditional watchmaking relies on miniaturization; however, Greubel Forsey has transformed this concept by designing a mechanism where energy is controlled at a nanojoule scale, reducing the required energy by an astonishing 1,800 times. As a result, the Nano Foudroyante requires 90% fewer components than conventional foudroyante seconds displays, measuring seconds with a leap in precision and efficiency.

This innovation aligns with Greubel Forsey’s heritage of inventiveness, tracing back to its inception in 2004. Pioneers in nanomechanics, the atelier continues to reimagine horology by incorporating this nano-level precision, making the Nano Foudroyante EWT a true feat of modern craftsmanship.

The Nano Foudroyante – A Compact and Complex Marvel
The Nano Foudroyante EWT is powered by a manual-winding flyback movement, setting it apart from any traditional mechanical complication. The reimagined foudroyante complication showcases Greubel Forsey’s ability to innovate within space constraints, fitting 428 components into a 31 mm movement. This remarkable compactness is complemented by a flying tourbillon that remains aligned at twelve o’clock, ensuring optimal readability, a feat that exemplifies the pinnacle of architectural design and aesthetic precision.

A Limited-Edition Icon in White Gold and Tantalum
Each of the 11 pieces in this exclusive series is set in a white gold case with a tantalum bezel and back, an avant-garde choice for Greubel Forsey. Tantalum, with its unique gray-blue sheen, elevates the watch’s visual appeal and durability, representing the atelier’s commitment to mastering rare materials. Each timepiece is meticulously hand-finished, with signature engravings marking “Nano Foudroyante” and “Greubel Forsey” on a hammer-textured background. The watch also bears inscriptions celebrating the atelier’s two-decade legacy, engraved with “2004 – 2024” and “20th Anniversary” to mark this milestone. making it both a technological marvel and a collector’s piece.

Public Debut at Mavericks of Time
The Nano Foudroyante EWT will make its first public appearance on November 1st at Mavericks of Time in Abu Dhabi, an event hosted by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. This highly anticipated unveiling marks a milestone in Greubel Forsey’s journey, underscoring their unwavering dedication to horological excellence and innovation.
