As Summer brings vibrant colours and life to Capri, the island welcomes a dazzling atmosphere filled with joy, love and sensuality.

Dolce & Gabbana’s new fragrance “celebrates the joyfulness of a sunny Summer day in Capri” by adding a fresh twist to its popular scents Light Blue and Light Blue Pour Homme with a new limited-edition ‘Italian Zest’ variation, inspired by the Italian scorza di limone or lemon zest.

In this summer’s limited edition eau de toilette variation, perfumer Olivier Cresp splashes a generous dose of tangy Calabrian lemon on light blue’s fruity floral signature. These are extracted from hand-harvested “limoni primofiore,” lemons that are grown from the tree’s first bloom and considered the very best quality due to their more intense taste. Both the zest and pulp are sensitive to heat and need to be squeezed according to an ancestral cold pressing technique called sfumatrice, to produce a true-to-nature essence with gourmand facets.

Brightened by the tangy citrus, Light Blue’s signature Sicilian cedar and Granny Smith apple top notes become even fruitier and juicier. The glowing white rose, and jasmine petal heart is more radiant than ever, its trail of ambery notes and warm musks becomes more lustrous. A new facet of Mediterranean femininity is unveiled with a twist of Italian Zest.

Light Blue Pour Homme has been reinvented by Perfumer Alberto Morillas with an overdose of fresh bergamot, a richly resonant citrus essence with facets of pepper, musk and oak.

Shaped like a small yellow-orange, Citrus bergamia is exclusively grown in Calabria. The essential oil is obtained by peeling the fruit, then cold-pressing the peel to protect its complex, delicate aromas.

In Italian Zest, a pure explosion of fresh bergamot boosts Light Blue Pour Homme’s signature contrast of coolness and sensuality. Brightening the top notes chilled cocktail of grapefruit and mandarin, the pepper and juniper facets add a spicy tang to the rosemary and rosewood of the heart notes. By contrast, the vibrant incense and musks of the drydown feel even more potent.

The sky-blue boxes of the limited-edition variant are adorned with a retro and playful design and an illustration of the Faraglioni in the background while bright yellow lemon zest lends its sunny colour to the cap and juices.
