Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition: Precision, Power, and Timeless Craftsmanship

In a remarkable fusion of haute horlogerie and high-performance engineering, Girard-Perregaux has unveiled the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition, a timepiece that embodies the shared values of precision, elegance, and endurance that define both brands. Crafted entirely from black ceramic, the watch captures the sculptural lines and technical sophistication reminiscent of Aston Martin’s most celebrated supercars, translating automotive artistry into a wrist-bound masterpiece.

From the very first glance, the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition commands attention with its iconic octagonal bezel, seamlessly integrated ceramic bracelet, and intricate satin finishes. Its skeletonised dial reveals the in-house GP01800 calibre, offering an uninterrupted view of its mechanical heartbeat. Every curve and angle, from the hand-bevelled bridges to the sandblasted textures, demonstrates an uncompromising dedication to craftsmanship.

Paying tribute to Aston Martin’s iconic Racing Green, the suspended indexes and skeletonised baton hands are finished in a rich green PVD coating, glowing with a vivid green emission in dim light. A discreet small seconds indicator at 10 o’clock ensures functional elegance, while the Aston Martin logo, metallised on the sapphire crystal caseback, reinforces the deep partnership between these two icons of design.

The GP01800 calibre is a mechanical marvel in itself, boasting 55 hand-crafted internal angles and four distinct finishing techniques, all executed by hand. This meticulous approach not only enhances the visual drama of the skeletonised movement but also ensures precision performance, aided by a variable inertia balance for improved shock resistance and chronometric stability. With a 54-hour power reserve, the watch is as reliable as it is beautiful.

In a nod to its automotive inspiration, the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition embodies both high-speed dynamism and refined control. Like the perfectly proportioned silhouette of an Aston Martin, every element of the watch’s design contributes to a harmonious whole—balancing visual power with ergonomic comfort. Ceramic’s lightweight, hypoallergenic properties ensure that despite its technical complexity, the watch wears effortlessly on the wrist.

This collaboration is not merely a branding exercise but a meeting of two engineering philosophies. Aston Martin’s mastery in shaping metal and motion finds its counterpart in Girard-Perregaux’s ability to sculpt time itself. The result is a timepiece that feels as much a mechanical sculpture as it does a functional instrument, with each openworked component reflecting decades of design evolution.

Limited to just 88 pieces worldwide, exclusivity is integral to the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition’s appeal. For collectors, it offers not only rarity but also the reassurance of enduring value, anchored by the timeless design language of the original 1975 Laureato and the prestige of one of Switzerland’s most respected manufactures.
