At Somerset House in London, Noon By Noor unveiled its Spring Summer 2025 collection, Ray of Light, in a salon-style presentation that captured the poetry of illumination. The Bahraini label, founded by cousins Shaikha Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Mohamed Al Khalifa, drew inspiration from the interplay of light and shadow, a theme that resonates with both historical photography and contemporary art.

The designers cited a moment in their Bahrain studio as the genesis of the collection. While experimenting with a black tulle dress suspended in a sunlit window, the filtered light revealed its delicate layers, recalling the surreal works of Man Ray and Katerina Jebb. This ephemeral image became the touchstone for the collection’s exploration of translucency, layering, and visual depth.

That sense of revelation translated into the garments themselves. The collection embraced sheer fabrics, layered textures, and tinted hues that shifted in perspective as the wearer moved. Irish linen and cotton poplin were juxtaposed with techno tulle, wadding, and crystal-pleated tulles, while sequined translucent textiles shimmered with a subtle glow. Exclusive prints, treated with modern technical finishes, lent freshness to timeless silhouettes.

“We embrace accidents and unexpected results as part of our creative process,” said Shaikha Haya Mohamed Al Khalifa. “Through offset proportions, layering, and playing with shadow, we create the illusion of depth.” This philosophy was evident in silhouettes that balanced fragility with strength—linen tuxedos paired with sweeping skirts, surreal dresses layered over other garments, and off-kilter tailoring softened by fluid draping.

The collection’s mood was enhanced by a bespoke soundscape from composer Uwe Doll. Overlapping tracks echoed the thrill of discovery—like trying on a garment or hearing a new song for the first time—complementing the visual narrative with an auditory counterpart. The result was a multisensory presentation that deepened the dialogue between fabric, light, and movement.

Noon By Noor has long been celebrated for its fusion of understated luxury with a confident femininity, and Ray of Lightcontinued that trajectory. Precision tailoring met relaxed codes of dress, echoing masculine influences while retaining a distinct softness. The collection’s layered approach offered not only aesthetic richness but also a quiet resilience—clothes that felt modern, wearable, yet imbued with poetry.

As London Fashion Week continues to evolve into a global stage for cross-cultural voices, Noon By Noor stands out for its ability to weave Bahraini artistry with international sophistication. With Ray of Light, the designers reaffirmed their vision: fashion as illumination, where hidden layers come alive under the gaze of light.
