At the opening ceremony of the 82nd Venice Film Festival on August 27, 2025, two acclaimed actresses brought CHANEL’s High Jewellery heritage to the spotlight with rare creations that celebrated artistry, history, and timeless elegance. Tilda Swinton, known for her avant-garde style and cinematic presence, chose pieces that embodied both sophistication and strength, affirming her role as one of the festival’s most striking figures.

Swinton graced the red carpet in the Diamond Sillage Ring and the Tweed Brodé Ring, both crafted in 18K white gold and set with luminous diamonds. The rings, emblematic of CHANEL’s ability to marry structure with fluidity, echoed the actress’s signature ability to transform fashion into a form of performance. Their brilliance caught the glow of the Venetian evening light, underscoring CHANEL’s mastery in creating jewels that feel both contemporary and eternal.

Joining her was rising star Ayo Edebiri, who also chose CHANEL High Jewellery for this prestigious occasion. She wore a diamond ring in 18K white gold alongside the Fontaine ear clips, creations from the reedition of the iconic Bijoux de Diamants collection first imagined by Gabrielle Chanel in 1932. With over 230 hours of craftsmanship behind them, the earrings are an exceptional piece of the house’s Patrimoine archives, revived for the festival in a testament to CHANEL’s legacy of reinventing its most treasured designs.

The Fontaine ear clips themselves are a celebration of movement and light, designed to capture the essence of flowing water through cascades of diamonds set in white gold. Edebiri’s choice to wear these archival jewels not only reflected her growing reputation as a fashion muse but also brought a sense of continuity between CHANEL’s storied past and its present creative vision.

Together, Swinton and Edebiri’s presence illustrated CHANEL’s deep connection with cinema, an art form that, like jewellery, thrives on light, symbolism, and storytelling. Their ensembles offered more than glamour—they symbolised CHANEL’s ongoing dialogue with the world of film, where heritage meets innovation.

As the curtain rose on this year’s festival, CHANEL’s High Jewellery once again confirmed its place at the heart of cultural celebration, adorning women who embody its spirit of artistry, independence, and refinement. With Venice as the backdrop, these jewels were not simply accessories but living icons of history and craft, linking the brilliance of diamonds to the brilliance of cinema.
