Shangri-La’s 8-Hands Dinner Series Unites Culinary Masters Across Four Cities

This September, Shangri-La Hotels will delight discerning food lovers with its exclusive 8-Hands Dinner Series, a collaborative culinary showcase spanning Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, and Jeddah. Running from September 18th to 30th, the series brings together four of the group’s celebrated master chefs to create a unique eight-course tasting menu that celebrates both the roots and contemporary interpretations of Chinese gastronomy. Each location promises an immersive experience where every dish tells a story—blending tradition, innovation, and impeccable technique.

Guests in Dubai will be treated to the artistry of Chef Peter Lau Chee Wei, whose expertise fuses Cantonese, Teochew, Malaysian, and Singaporean flavors into visually stunning plates. Abu Dhabi welcomes Chef Qiguo Su, a specialist in Sichuan cuisine known for refined classics such as Peking Duck, while Istanbul’s diners will experience Chef Cheng Lu’s three decades of culinary excellence in seafood and dim sum. Rounding out the series, Chef Sky Wong Kum Choy of Jeddah offers bold interpretations of modern Chinese fare, combining authentic techniques with global influences.

Signature dishes across the series include King Crab with Caviar, Spinach, and Shredded Tofu Broth Soup, Wok-Fried Wagyu Beef Striploin with Garlic, and Wok-Fried Boston Lobster with Egg Yolk—each crafted to delight the palate and evoke the essence of Chinese culinary artistry. The menus are thoughtfully designed to take guests on a gastronomic journey that lingers long after the meal ends.

The Dubai leg of the series runs from September 18th to 20th, followed by Abu Dhabi on September 22nd and 23rd, Istanbul from September 25th to 27th, and concludes in Jeddah on September 29th and 30th. With limited seating and carefully crafted menus, each event offers an intimate and refined dining experience. The series sets the stage for Taste of Shangri-La, a global culinary celebration across multiple continents in October 2025.

Prices for the dinner start at AED 588 per person in the UAE and vary by location, with pairing options for tea and wine available to enhance the flavors. The 8-Hands Dinner Series promises a rare opportunity to savor masterfully crafted dishes while celebrating Shangri-La’s commitment to hospitality, creativity, and culinary excellence.
