Fringed by white sandy beaches, covered with abundant vegetation, populated by exotic birds, encircled by coral reefs and enhanced by the soft pace of the sea and its natural surroundings, Tsarabanjina is a private island bathed in serenity. About 60km off the north-west coast of Madagascar, the Constance Tsarabanjina resort is nestled on this small secluded volcanic island. It is a resort that encourages guests to kick off their shoes and relax in their hammocks while being caressed by the ocean breeze.

The resort is designed to create the impression of castaway seclusion. It consists of just 25 simple stylish beach villas, scattered across two unspoilt beaches and backed by the green island to provide its guests with luxury, seclusion and spectacular sea views from the private terraces and a palm-thatched roof.

The spa stays true to the castaway spirit with luxury massages provided on a bed situated above the ocean, with gorgeous sunset views. The palm-thatched treatment room and the shower hewn into the rock of the island enhance this experience. The spa features natural products infused with the aroma of local plants such as ylang-ylang, vanilla, coconut and sweet orange.

Madagascar has a long tradition of natural farming and is also used in the island’s cultivation of fruits. These succulent fruits are used to prepare fresh juices, jams and sorbets, and are also served at breakfast. For a truly unique island experience, visitors can even try their hand at traditional Madagascan net fishing, following which the hotel’s Madagascan chefs cook the fresh catch for supper.

An amazingly calm coral sea houses a variety of marine life making it ideal for water activities such as diving and snorkelling in a virtually untouched corner of the Indian Ocean. Given the rich biodiversity of the island, guests can explore the island, hike up the hills or just soak in the ambience with a stroll.
