As Courchevel marks its landmark 80th anniversary season, a new address quietly reshapes the narrative of alpine hospitality. Maya Hotel Courchevel 1850 has officially opened its doors, introducing a discreet, design-led interpretation of luxury to one of the world’s most prestigious ski destinations. Conceived as an intimate retreat rather than a statement hotel, the boutique property blends Monaco’s refined glamour with the calm precision of Japanese design, offering a sanctuary for travellers who value privacy, craftsmanship, and considered living.

The hotel’s interiors are defined by restraint and harmony. Natural wood, stone, bronze, and metal are layered with meticulous intention, creating a cocoon-like atmosphere that feels both contemporary and timeless. This dialogue between European savoir-faire and Japanese minimalism extends throughout the bespoke rooms and suites, culminating in the Lalique Suite and Lalique Apartment. Each features private treatment rooms and exclusive crystal creations by Maison Lalique, including a striking lobby chandelier composed of 60 floating crystal anemones—an ethereal tribute to falling alpine snow.

Wellness sits at the heart of the Maya experience through the launch of Maya Well x Forlle’d, a next-generation partnership with the award-winning Japanese beauty brand. Treatments are offered both within the hotel’s dedicated wellness space and discreetly in-suite, allowing guests to retreat entirely from the outside world. The focus is on precision, innovation, and deep restoration, aligning seamlessly with the hotel’s overarching philosophy of tranquillity and balance.

Culinary expression arrives in the form of MayaBay Courchevel 1850, the first Alpine outpost of the celebrated Thai-Japanese restaurant brand. Known for its sophisticated fusion cuisine in destinations such as Monaco and Dubai, MayaBay brings a refined yet vibrant energy to the slopes. The menu spans sushi, dim sum, curries, and sharing plates, with signature dishes such as the Caviar Croustillant topped with Petrossian Ossetra Royal caviar, ChooChee Lobster in sweet-savory red curry, and a Black Cod inspired by the traditional gindara kasuzuke.

With direct slope access, an intentionally intimate scale, and the option to privatise the entire property, Maya Hotel Courchevel 1850 is designed as a rarefied hideaway at the centre of alpine life. Its opening not only enriches Courchevel’s anniversary season, but also marks a significant milestone for Maya Collection, ahead of further global expansion. Quietly confident and meticulously curated, Maya Hotel Courchevel 1850 signals a new chapter in alpine luxury—one defined by serenity rather than spectacle.
