Parisian perfumery house Diptyque reopens the doors of its legendary Orphéon universe with the launch of Orphéon Eau de Toilette. This new creation reinterprets the emblematic fragrance first imagined as an Eau de Parfum in 2021, offering a brighter, more effervescent expression of the iconic Saint-Germain-des-Prés jazz club. Conceived by perfumer Natalie Cetto, the scent captures the electric promise of early evening as night begins to unfold.
Orphéon’s origins trace back to the 1960s, when the jazz club next to Diptyque’s boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germainbecame a creative refuge for artists, intellectuals and bohemian spirits. It was here that the Maison’s founders gathered, immersed in music, smoke and spirited conversation. The new Eau de Toilette distils that suspended moment at dusk when glasses clink, musicians tune up and possibility hangs in the air.

The fragrance opens with an exhilarating burst of green tangerine and Japanese yuzu, delivering crisp citrus luminosity. A vivid interplay of juniper berries, pink peppercorn and ginger introduces a spicy heartbeat before softening into a floral core of rose and magnolia. Anchored by woody cedar and musk, the composition leaves a refined yet vibrant silage, balancing freshness with depth.
True to Diptyque’s graphic language, the bottle becomes a narrative object. Decorated with artwork by Gianpaolo Pagni, the design draws inspiration from archival furnishing fabrics created by the founders. Optical effects and tonal contrasts echo the club’s blue column and dancing lights, while a trio of subtle silhouettes nods to Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Gautrot and Yves Coueslant — the trio behind the Maison’s enduring creative spirit.

Expanding the ritual, Diptyque introduces three new fragrance gestures within the Orphéon line. A perfumed body lotion cloaks the skin in a soft, milky veil while preserving hydration. A nourishing hair mist infused with camellia oil imparts a delicate scented trail. A travel-ready hand cream completes the collection, offering on-the-go sophistication in colder weather.
