Technology leader Sony has unveiled the WF-1000XM6 truly wireless earbuds in the UAE, advancing its critically acclaimed 1000X series with upgraded noise cancellation, enhanced sound engineering and refined ergonomics. Building on the WF-1000XM5 platform, the new model delivers a 25% improvement in noise reduction performance. The launch also introduces a Sand Pink colourway to the popular WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones range.
At the core of the WF-1000XM6 lies the next-generation HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e working alongside Sony’s Integrated Processor V2. With four microphones on each earbud and an Adaptive Noise Cancelling Optimiser, the system continuously analyses environmental sound and fit conditions in real time. Mid-to-high frequency noise — common in travel and café environments — is significantly reduced, creating a quieter and more immersive listening experience.

Sony has elevated sound performance through dual processors and a newly developed driver unit combining soft-edge bass reinforcement with a rigid dome for extended high frequencies. The QN3e enables enhanced DAC amplifier performance, while 32-bit processing ensures increased clarity and resolution compared to its predecessor. Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme and 360 Reality Audio compatibility further refine the premium acoustic signature.
The 1000X series has also been tuned in collaboration with Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated engineers including Randy Merrill, Chris Gehringer, Mike Piacentini and Michael Romanowski. Their input ensures the WF-1000XM6 reproduces music exactly as creators intend — rich in detail, balanced in tonality and precise in dynamic expression. From studio mastering to portable listening, the earbuds bridge professional fidelity with everyday practicality.

Call performance has been upgraded through a combination of dual microphones, bone conduction sensors and AI beamforming noise reduction. Even in crowded spaces, voices are isolated with precision, ensuring consistent clarity during calls. Connectivity has also improved, with antennas 1.5 times larger than the previous generation and LE Audio compatibility for ultra-low latency performance.
Ergonomics have been refined for extended comfort. The earbuds are approximately 11% slimmer, following the natural curves of the inner ear to reduce pressure and fatigue. A redesigned ventilation structure minimises internal noise from movement, while new Noise Isolation Earbud Tips provide secure sealing in four sizes. Up to eight hours of listening time per charge and 24 hours with the case ensure sustained performance throughout the day.

Sustainability considerations remain central to the design. Approximately 25% circular material is used in the plastics of the WF-1000XM6, and packaging is plastic-free. The addition of the elegant Sand Pink finish to the WH-1000XM6 further expands Sony’s lifestyle appeal, positioning both models as technological essentials that double as design-forward accessories.
