JA Hatta Fort Hotel introduces Bonfire Nights this Ramadan in collaboration with Project Chaiwala, inviting guests to experience an evening of warmth, storytelling, and traditional chai beneath the mountain skies. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Hajar Mountains, the experience celebrates the spirit of togetherness that defines the Holy Month. Guests are encouraged to unwind after iftar while enjoying the cool mountain air and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed karak.
The collaboration brings together two UAE-rooted brands that share a commitment to cultural connection and hospitality. Originally introduced through a co-branded chai cart at JA Lake View Hotel, the partnership now evolves into a fully immersive mountain experience. Held at the scenic Hikaya restaurant, the evenings offer an inviting atmosphere where guests gather around a glowing bonfire surrounded by palm trees and mountain views.

As the evening unfolds, soft lighting and traditional instrumental music create a peaceful setting for relaxed conversation and shared moments. Local storytelling adds another layer of cultural richness, echoing the storytelling traditions that have long been associated with gatherings during Ramadan. The setting encourages guests to slow down, connect, and appreciate the quiet beauty of Hatta’s natural landscape.
At the heart of the experience is Project Chaiwala’s signature karak chai, served by a chai wallah in the brand’s distinctive high-pour style. Guests can enjoy classic blends such as Karak Aslee Chai alongside creative variations that introduce modern twists to the beloved beverage. Each cup celebrates the UAE’s deep-rooted chai culture while reflecting Project Chaiwala’s contemporary interpretation of the tradition.

The chai experience is complemented by a selection of light bonfire-style bites curated by the hotel’s culinary team. These comforting dishes are designed to pair naturally with the warm spice of karak and the relaxed rhythm of the evening. Hubbly bubbly is also available, adding a familiar element to the social experience enjoyed across the region.
Project Chaiwala, founded in 2017, was created from a shared passion for karak and the stories that surround it. Drawing inspiration from the street-side chaiwalas of India, the brand celebrates Dubai’s identity as a crossroads of cultures. Through cafés, pop-ups, and community gatherings, it continues to introduce new audiences to the ritual and heritage of chai.

Taking place on weekend evenings throughout Ramadan, Bonfire Nights transforms a simple cup of chai into a memorable shared experience in the mountains. With hospitality, tradition, and natural beauty coming together in one setting, the collaboration offers a unique way to celebrate Ramadan under the stars in Hatta.
