Lotusier, the brand behind the groundbreaking Tea Humidor, is now launching a sibling product – the Tin Humidor – in time for christmas. The Tin Humidor, which also uses patented technology, will be available exclusively at Harrods for around a 100 USD. The innovative design has been many years‘ long work in progress, and this new product offers 2-way humidity-controlled, airtight, light-blocking storage for tea lovers. Furthermore, it also affords ideal conditions for the storage of coffee beans, truffles, saffron, cigars and other prized and perishable epicurean staples, which are highly sensitive to humidity levels, light, air and odours.

The Tin humidor is revolutionary in its design as it encompasses a “hidden inner container within the outer tin“, a unique two-wall solution, which allows for special 2-way humidity packs (which can either absorb or emit moisture – depending on need) to be placed between the two containers. This design enables the humidity packs to work without placing them in direct contact with the contents of the inner container, and without being externally visible. Furthermore, the lid houses a (removable) silicone gasket, which ensures that the Tin Humidor is airtight. The design has been developed for home storage, as well as for travelling with tea leaves and luxury gastronomic items. The Tin Humidors will be available in off-white and anthracite grey.

Developed with the specialist expertise of the team that researched, developed and launched the original well-publicized and widely-acclaimed Lotusier Tea Humidor, this product brings a new quality of storage to a much broader audience.

The mid-sized Tin Humidor, which will be the ?rst of several sizes to launch, has an inner volume of approximately 900ml. and can store up to 250 grams of tea (depending on the type) in optimal conditions. The product is also complementary to the original Tea Humidor, as it allows buyers and owners or the original Tea Humidor to store larger quantities of tea in a perfect setting, before placing it in the individual crystal containers of the Tea Humidor (which can only accommodate smaller quantities of tea, approximately 40-70 grams).

The founder at Lotusier. Asa Eriksson-Ahuja says of creating the Tin Humidors: “We have been working to create a perfectly airtight tin since launching the Tea Humidor. We have welcomed the ?ne-tea revolution, and have been keen to open up the bene?ts of optimal storage for all tea lovers to enjoy, and not only cater to the luxury market.”

“Our new product also allows Tea Humidor owners to perfectly store extra quantities of tea, and makes travelling with their favourite leaves easy due to the Tin Humidor’s portability and weight. This is the product we envisaged all those year ago and I am extremely happy with the ?nished result.” – Asa Eriksson-Ahuja, Founder at Lotusier
