The One Drop Foundation and Phillips have announced the full list of the 50 artworks that are to be offered at the ‘Art for One Drop’ auction on September 21, in New York. The charity auction will directly benefit One Drop’s safe water initiatives in Latin America, namely through its Lazos de Agua program, which will help transform the lives of more than 200,000 people in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia and Paraguay, through sustainable access to safe water and sanitation.

The One Drop is an international non-profit organisation created by Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté. It uses circus arts, folklore, popular theatre, music, dance and visual arts to raise awareness of water-related issues.

Some of the most influential contemporary artists working today, such as Sterling Ruby, Carol Bove, Gabriel Orozco, and Nicolas Party to name a few, along with their galleries have agreed to donate works of art to the auction.

“The overwhelming response from the artists and the meaningful artworks they have donated to this auction speaks to the direct impact of One Drop’s initiatives, and it’s amazing knowing the funds will go directly towards improving the lives of thousands of people living without access to safe water.” – Philipp Kaiser, renowned art critic and curator of Art for One Drop.

The auction will be followed by an after-party at Phillips by invitation only, imagined by Variety Worldwide and made possible by Tao Group, Valmont, Chateau d’Esclans, Tequila Casa Dragones, Kikori Whiskey, Tabl’eau Filtered Water, with an exclusive media partnership with the Cultured magazine.
