George Russell Unveils the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition in Abu Dhabi

In Abu Dhabi, where performance and prestige often meet on equal terms, an exclusive unveiling at Emirates Motor Company marked a defining moment for Mercedes-AMG enthusiasts in the region. Formula 1 driver George Russell revealed the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition at the EMC showroom on Airport Road, introducing one of the rarest and most motorsport-inspired models ever created by the brand. Limited to just 52 units worldwide, the arrival of this edition in the UAE immediately positioned it as a collector’s milestone, blending Formula 1 influence with road-going luxury 

The GT 63 APXGP Edition is designed to communicate its racing pedigree at first glance. Hand-applied paintwork is complemented by distinctive Race Gold accents and a checkered-flag motif across the fenders, subtle yet unmistakable references to Mercedes-AMG’s deep roots in motorsport. Sitting on 21-inch AMG forged wheels, the car carries a poised, assertive stance that balances elegance with aggression, making it as visually compelling at standstill as it is in motion.

Inside, the cabin reinforces the sense of rarity and craftsmanship. Black Nappa leather upholstery is elevated through Race Gold contrast stitching, while a “Limited Edition 1 of 52” badge on the centre console quietly signals exclusivity to those who know where to look. The interior atmosphere is immersive rather than ostentatious, designed to connect driver and machine through refined materials and motorsport-inspired detailing, rather than excess.

The unveiling itself was conceived as an experience rather than a traditional launch. Hosted by Emirates Motor Company, the evening brought together VIP clients, collectors, and brand partners, with George Russell’s presence adding a tangible link between Formula 1 and the road-car world. A creative collaboration with adidas, Mercedes-AMG’s global apparel partner, further blurred the lines between automotive performance and contemporary culture, transforming the showroom into a space where engineering, design, and lifestyle intersected.

With the debut of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Motor Company reaffirmed its role in delivering not just vehicles, but moments of brand storytelling that resonate with passion and precision. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, this limited edition stands as a celebration of Mercedes-AMG’s racing DNA—translated into a road-going icon that feels both emotionally charged and impeccably refined.
