Calistoga Ranch is an exclusive 157 acres mixed-use resort situated on the banks of a spring-fed lake. Managed by Auberge Resorts Collection, it is located in Upper Napa Valley, approximately a one-and-a-half-hour drive from downtown San Francisco. The resort has been designed to recreate the feel of a vintner’s sprawling estate while preserving the integrity and beauty of the valley with its creek, lake, and an abundance of ancient oaks and redwoods.
The 50 guest lodges are between 600 and 3,000 square feet, and are designed with relaxation and comfort in mind.
Each unit is comprised of a series of free-standing rooms connected by decks, trellised walkways and expansive outdoor living areas that create a seamless indoor and outdoor living space; all set thoughtfully amidst the pristine natural setting.
The lodges feature cedar-shingled roofs and sides, floor-to-ceiling windows, an indoor bath, and an outdoor shower garden. Luxurious touches include down duvets, Fili D’oro linens, Calistoga Ranch’s own line of bay laurel and eucalyptus-scented botanically pure hair care and body products, a fully equipped entertainment centre and high-speed wireless connectivity. The 3,000 square feet Estate Lodge is spacious and very private, overlooking the lake.
The Auberge Spa at the Ranch is designed to pay tribute to Calistoga’s centuries-old legacy as a site for healing mineral waters. It features a natural mineral pool, quiet treatment rooms, outdoor garden showers, private soaking tubs and the seasonal creek-side spa pavilions, which allow guests the chance to relax in luxury while listening to the soothing sounds of rushing water. The spa offers a variety of unique bodywork and treatments indigenous to the region using only the purest ingredients. Through the Ranch’s “Bee Well” program, guests can avail the signature eco-luxe, honey-infused spa treatments.
The Lakehouse restaurant celebrates the renowned cuisine of Napa Valley and makes use of organic ingredients from local farmers, and from the resort’s greenhouse. It offers both indoor and outdoor dining with pastoral views of the lake.
Auberge Adventures offers guests outings such as scenic tours in a hot air balloon, zip-lining through Napa Valley, driving a formula-3 race car or race kart, bicycle tours, and outdoor photography or art class. Innovative wellness activities incorporate both physical and spiritual programs such as Woodland Haiku, Ai Chi, and Bike & Hike among others. 140 acres of land is dedicated to nature with hiking trails available to guests within the property, plus an additional 1,000-acre in the surrounding conservancy.
The ranch has a well-equipped indoor and outdoor fitness centre that overlooks the pool and the vineyards, with a selection dedicated to cardiovascular and strength training equipment. The outdoor pool features dramatic views of the vineyard, oak groves and Mayacama Mountains.
