Montegrappa in collaboration with Lamborghini presents the Automobili Lamborghini 60° – an all-Italian, limited-edition writing instrument collection. Fusing advanced materials and futuristic design, Automobili Lamborghini 60° pays tribute to the Italian automotive icon as it celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2023.
Sixty years of iconic automotive designs provide the inspiration for Montegrappa’s new collection comprising just sixty fountain pens and rollerballs, both offered in six factory colours. Pure surfaces, precise contours and determined proportions provide the sensorial pillars for the collection’s design codes. The instruments, with hexagonal profiles, are constructed for numerically milled ultra-light aerospace aluminium that is clad in forged carbon fibre.
On fountain pens, Montegrappa’s signature Power-Push mechanism offers writers the convenience of one-touch filling. Meanwhile, both modes are equipped with a one-step release system developed for rapid ink chamber access. Inspired by Lamborghini’s iconic start button guard, a red alloy flip switch located on the pen’s base operates a mechanical complication never previously integrated into a Montegrappa writing instrument.
Further mechanical treatments include a threadless cap, while identity elements include a Y-shaped clip made from stamped black alloy, and a hexagonal nameplate brandishing the luxury maker’s 60º Anniversario emblem. On fountain pens, Automobili Lamborghini’s shield shines in gold, engraved into a reference-level, ruthenium-plated 18K gold nib.
The colours offered across the edition echo Lamborghini’s unique palette, with a choice of bold body finishes in high-gloss – Arancio Apodis (orange), Bianco Siderale (white), and Verde Viper (green) –with Blu Aegeus (blue); Grigio Titans (grey) and Nero Noctis (black) in matt. All examples are delivered in a black 60th Anniversary collector case.
Like all Montegrappa writing instruments, the Automobili Lamborghini 60° collection is manufactured by hand at the company’s Venetian headquarters, located beneath Monte Grappa in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. In 2023, its artisanal factory celebrates 111 years as Italy’s oldest and most advanced fountain pen manufacturer. The collaborative design and development process for Automobili Lamborghini 60° spanned a total of 24 months.
