With the debut of Riccardo Tisci as the Creative Director at Burberry, the fashion house has entered a new phase. With new release strategies and exciting launches, comes yet another collection launch from Burberry – the Heritage Trench Coat collection.
At Burberry’s Castleford factory in Yorkshire, a single trench coat goes through 127 processes from start to finish and is made using the signature gabardine fabric invented by the fashion house’s founder Thomas Burberry in 1879. The antique yellow vintage check lines on the coat are carefully cut and placed by hand for a symmetrical and unbroken design. The intricate stitching of the collar which involves 180 stitches takes a year alone for a specialist tailor to master.
Burberry has decided to celebrate this collection at its stores in The Dubai mall (21st to 27th October) and Mall of the Emirates (29th October to 10th November) with a temporary space specially designed for it.
What is even more exciting to the customers is that they can personalize their Heritage trench with a selection of limited-edition buttons inspired by the Burberry archive which are all available exclusively within the space.
The collection consists of three styles – Chelsea, Kensington and Westminster, in a number of colours with modern details. The Chelsea is a slim-fit style trench, the Kensington comes with a classic-fit while the Westminster has a relaxed fit.
The colour palette for men includes classic honey and black, as well as new tones of dark military khaki and mid-grey.
With winter soon approaching, it is the perfect time to pull off the heritage trench coats by Burberry.
