Polo Ralph Lauren has unveiled a heartfelt tribute to American heritage with its limited-edition Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs collection, released on July 23, 2025. Inspired by the rich cultural legacy of Oak Bluffs, a historic coastal town on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, this collection is a celebration of community, generational tradition, and Black excellence. Long known as a sanctuary for Black families and vacationers, Oak Bluffs now becomes the backdrop for Ralph Lauren’s latest story of American style — one rooted in authenticity, inclusion, and timelessness.
This coastal enclave, cherished for over a century by generations of Black beachgoers, alumni groups, and year-round homeowners, provides the foundation for a campaign that blends seaside nostalgia with collegiate flair. Ralph Lauren’s longstanding partnership with historically Black institutions — Morehouse College and Spelman College — extends into this capsule through garments designed by alumni of both schools, marrying the aesthetic of campus life with that of a relaxed summer retreat.

As Ralph Lauren continues to lead with its “Design with Intent” ethos, the Oak Bluffs collection thoughtfully incorporates motifs, embroidery, and coastal cues that reflect the town’s storied traditions. Maritime stripes, salt-kissed knits, and heirloom-worthy outerwear are designed to echo the rituals of Oak Bluffs — from leisurely bike rides down Sea View Avenue to the town’s iconic front porch “five-to-sevens.” The result is a wearable narrative stitched with memory, pride, and the pursuit of joy.
The campaign, captured by acclaimed photographer Nadine Ijewere and videographer Azariah Bjørvig, was directed by author and filmmaker Cole Brown. Himself a summer visitor to Martha’s Vineyard for decades, Brown brings a personal lens to the storytelling, which culminates in a short documentary titled “A Portrait of the American Dream: Oak Bluffs.”The film blends campaign visuals with rare archival images and personal accounts from Oak Bluffs residents, HBCU alumni, and cultural historians.

The collection’s standout pieces honor both the locale and the colleges it draws from. A satin varsity jacket in Morehouse maroon features the college’s proud Maroon Tiger insignia, while a Spelman-inspired cardigan in ivory and blue showcases its beloved Jaguar mascot alongside references to campus landmarks. These items speak not just to individual style but to generational identity and community pride.
In addition to celebrating fashion, Ralph Lauren’s initiative supports cultural preservation. The brand has partnered with The Cottagers, Inc. — a nonprofit composed of 100 Black women homeowners on Martha’s Vineyard — to aid in restoring historic properties and fortifying the island’s cultural legacy. Other collaborations include the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, the African American Heritage Trail, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, which collectively helped shape the campaign’s archival depth.

The full collection will be available worldwide beginning July 24, 2025, via RalphLauren.com, the Ralph Lauren app, select Ralph Lauren stores, and the Morehouse and Spelman campus bookstores. It’s a move that signals the brand’s dedication not only to stylish storytelling but also to inclusive representation — ensuring these garments reach both long-time Ralph Lauren fans and those newly inspired by the collection’s deeper message.
Echoing the spirit of Ralph Lauren’s broader vision, the Oak Bluffs capsule is a portrait of America in all its complexity and potential. “This collection is about more than a charming coastal town,” said Ralph Lauren. “It’s a story of the American dream.” Through community collaboration, creative direction, and fashion that bridges past and present, the collection becomes a cultural milestone, offering beauty, memory, and belonging in every stitch.

For those seeking more than just a seasonal wardrobe update, Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs delivers a meaningful chapter in the American style narrative — one where Black joy, coastal elegance, and collegiate legacy converge to shape a timeless summer icon.
