Inspired by Aston Martin Racing’s on-track exploits, the DB11 AMR was recently launched as the new flagship model.  The twin-turbocharged, 5.2-litre V12 inside the AMR generates 630bhp, an increase of 30bhp. The new top speed is 208 mph, making the AMR the fastest model in Aston Martin’s current series production range. The AMR’s handling is sharper thanks to a new shift calibration for the transmission. It also has a new exhaust note which is slightly more vocal when Sport mode is engaged.

Visually, the AMR is distinguished by its new palette of exposed carbon fibre and gloss black detailing that unites the exterior and interior treatment. The interior features AMR embossing, dark chrome, monotone leather and alcantara upholstery, contrasted by a bold central lime stripe. The leather sports steering wheel is standard.

Aston Martin’s President & CEO, Dr Andy Palmer said at the launch: “we felt the V12 could reveal more of its sporting potential, while remaining the consummate GT. By applying a suite of carefully considered performance and styling enhancements, the DB11 AMR is both faster and more precise. It’s a combination that engages and cossets in equal measure to create a dynamic and seductive new flagship for the DB11 range.“

For those wishing to be in a more exclusive club, the AMR comes in three designer specifications. A rearer variant, strictly limited to just 100 units worldwide, is the AMR Signature Edition. It is distinguished by a striking Stirling Green and lime livery, extensive carbon fibre detailing on the exterior. The interior features dark knight leather and lime detailing, satin dark chrome switchgear, and satin carbon fibre trim. The AMR Signature Edition is priced at £201,995.

For those long weekends on the road, Aston Martin offers expertly tailored luggage sets that match the car’s specification.
